Long term project BMW 325 iX How would you go about this?

Thanks Gary, The half that I did first, I complicated things by doing 3 rotary compounding/polishing steps and a Flex 3401 step to final finish. Today when I did the other half and the front fenders I used my Makita rotary with an Edge 2000 medium cutting wool pad and then went right to an Edge 2000 final finishing foam pad on the rotary to finish with.

How did you not get holograms when working with rotary? I thought they always left holograms on cars. And needed DA to correct them?

Lots of practice. I rarely ever touch a DA except on some really finicky paints or some quick AIO details.

The answer would really be to keep the pad very clean and as flat as possible and at the end of the finishing passes reduce the speed a bit for the final pass to jewel or burnish the paint. The Edge 2000 final finish pads are super duper soft as well.

Very nice Dave! You got the money shot there!

I love Bimmer SS Reds and Blacks, They always come out great!

Heading over to do a little more of this project today. I'm going to try to get the roof, trunk lid and around the windshield and wiper cowl vents corrected/polished today. I'll take some pictures and post them in tonight or tomorrow morning.
