ive stopped using FK1000P but this post is making want to go back and do more testing, I need more cars to do more test :autowash:

on my wife's daily driver, kept outside during the day and garaged overnight, I went 10 months with FK1000p. It may have gone longer, but that's when I decided to redo it. In those 10 months, sometime in between I did one rinseless with ONRWW, and two other times I topped with FK425.

I know I posted about DG and Collinite but KSG x2 is the way to go!

I like Klasse longevity :). Not the easiest to apply tho.

Another couple votes for collinite 476 and 845!

Years ago when I was doing dealer production detailing, we had a paint protection package that featured this "super sealant" that was suppose to last 2 years to be applied to brand new cars. I got my hands on some, properly prepped my car, and applied. I then went home and prepped my wife's car (clay, polish, etc) and applied 2 coats of 476.

After 2 months, the beading on the "super sealant" was greatly diminished, and the 476...well still going strong.

Ive also had good success with M21. And its relatively inexpensive too considering you can buy a 64oz size!

Thank you everyone for your input

I think some of the suggestions are Ceramic Coatings instead of sealants?
Klaise and others mentioned are not "ceramic" are they?

I'll probably do 3M Scotchguard myself, and though of putting ceramic on top of it might be a good idea?
Thoughts?

Everything product discussed so far is a synthetic sealant.

If you want to go the route of a coating, you really don't want anything under it so it will bond properly to the paint. Isn't Scotchguard for fabrics?

yes, as stated the coating goes on the bottom of a freshly prepped surface so it can bond properly

So... which synthetic sealant do you think
will last the longest between applications?

Bob

i would go for the new mckee's high def paint sealant just for the simple fact its new, either that or i would try the black label diamond sealant.

In particular order:

Menzerna Powerlock (love the look on bloody red metallic) 8 months
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant (love the look on royal blue metallic) 6-6.5 months
Duragloss 105/601 (looks great on red and blue but makes a color a bit bright for my likening)6 months

Lol Bob. 4pages for that conclusion. Well maybe someone else will get something out of this.

Thoughts: Isn't 3M Scotchguard for fabric seats????????????
