According to GM they are available in Michigan,NY,NJ,Conn,Cali,Texas And DC the first quarter of 2011 followed by the rest of east coast and west coast in the 3rd Quarter then the reast of the country by the end of the year!

Yup, there implementing a 200 of those electric stations around the DMV area.

DMV= DC MD VA

im not ready to "charge" my car yet.

i like the sound of an exhaust too much to give that up.

My brother rented one from Hertz this weekend they are nice but I like my big truck. BTW they are 41k before tax breaks. And if you really want one you will probably pay a premium above that for a bit yet.

I really want both. I cant ignore what our current vehicles are doing to the earth. Yet I'm not ready to change over and sacrifice so much of what I love about cars.

This would help me get over that hump.

There are a number of factory-supplied test vehicles running around, too. If it had a Michigan manufacturer's plate, that's likely what it is.
Dad07 is correct on the distribution. We don't expect to see any in Western PA for nearly a year. I'm a gas engine gearhead like most of us, but there's a lot to be said for a long range electric-powered vehicle. They shine in the low-speed bumper-to-bumper commuter traffic environment that's toughest on conventional vehicles for both fuel mileage and engine life.

I think it was a NY plate but it may have been a dealer plate looking at the stickers now

Nah, I can tell at a glance that's a Michigan plate, but it's not a "Manufacturer" plate because it doesn't have the large "M" on it -- it's just a regular MI plate. My guess is that means it's part of the GM press fleet.

As clean as most new engines are today, turbo/super charging, proper gear ratios, etc... its hard to beat the modern day engine. I lean towards joining the camp that the manufacturing of electric cars is currently more damaging to our enivironment than the modern engines that are being produced today.

I have a new subaru legacy which is a zero emission vehicle and I get at a minimum 33 mpg and thats driving with no regard to being economical. I'd rather drive that than any electric car.
