Looking at some waxes - need some help

I have been doing a lot of looking on Auto Geek's online store, and while there are several waxes I would like to get, at this point I am unsure as to what I should buy. Any input would be appreciated. The waxes I have been eyeballing are:

Collinite #845
Collinite #476
Dodo Juice Hard Candy Hard Wax
Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub Soft Wax
Dodo Juice Supernatural
Pinnacle Signature Series II

What is the difference between Collinite #845 and #476? What is the durability like on the other waxes mentioned? Regarding the Dodo Juice waxes, is Lime Prime Lite necessary before application? Sorry for all the questions, but I don't know what to get. I'd like something that's fairly durable (I am willing to wax once a month in the summer, but I need durability for winter). And I have 5 cars to do, so ease of application and removal is a must. Here's a few pics of our cars so you get an idea of color and status (daily driver or garage queen):

1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL (daily driver, sits outside 24/7)

and a 2001 beige Honda Accord that is also a garage queen. So I am looking for waxes that will compliment these colors. Durability is an issue for the daily drivers, but is not really an issue for the garage queens. Any thoughts on the waxes I have mentioned? Any other waxes I might look at? Again, sorry for all the questions, but I want to try some new products and would just like a push in the right direction. Thank you very much!

Of the one's you have listed 845 is your best bet for the daily drivers as it looks great and last about 6 months. As far as the steps to take before hand, you should use a product such as Klasse AIO or Optimum Poli-Seal, which is a great product to use in order to remove some light swirls and provide a very clean surface on which to apply an LSP, Poli-Seal is my go to product for a quick 1 step and it provides great protection and shine by itself. You should also consider Collinite 915 as it is a great paste wax for $30 and lasts about as long as 845. I would not consider the DoDo line for your cars, it is overpriced and I personally prefer the added protection of the Collinites over the very miniscule added shine the Supernatural provides, believe me it is not very much at all. If you want to experiment go ahead and buy 845, 915, Klasse AIO, Optimum Poli-Seal, and maybe some SSII for the silver cars, try some different combinations and see what you like.

Car waxes to guys are like shoes to women, you can never have too many...

Instead of picking one or two, pick one or two for now and then get one or two more later. Don't limit yourself to how many quality waxes you have in your collection, for goodness sake women don't limit themselves to how many pairs of shoes they must have.

OK, here's another question regarding any of the Collinite waxes. Can you apply a pure wax over top, or a sealant on the bottom? Or is this completely unnecessary? Does adding more layers of Collinite add any extra benefits (other than even coverage), such as increased gloss and depth, durability, etc.?
 
Dont mean to add but I would consider DPMaxWax, and Nattys Red also. That being said I would grab SSII or Liquid Souveran by Pinnacle first.

I researched a lot about these waxes, and I decided to go with 845. It's like a liquid mixture of carnauba wax and a synthetic sealant, so presumably it gives the look of a carnauba with the durability of a sealant. I personally like the 845 that I got very much. It was a breeze to apply and remove, like rubbing butter your car. Some folks were saying that out of the 3 the 476 was the most difficult to work with, but was the most durable (if I remember right). If you get 845, the bottle will look like the stuff is all solid on the inside, but you have to shake the crap out of the bottle, or put the bottle in a cup of warm water for a little bit, then shake it, and it will get "runny" and liquidy again. I like the look it gives my 1999 sage grey camry. Can't tell you about long term durability from experience yet, but it's supposed to last like 6 months. It's been 2 months for me, and the car still beads like crazy. And the beading is out of this world!! It makes like perfect little pearls of water beads on the car. And when you are driving, the water just flies off the car. This is kind of fun to watch while it is happening...but always 2 eyes on the road!! LOL :laughing:

How true...so many of us have waxes for every occasion like women have shoes for them.
 
Although I haven't tried the Dodo waxes,I once faced a similar dilemma,so I bought and use both the 476 and 845(I still haven't made up my mind).I put on a very thin coat of 476 then a cpl days later a coat of 845.As its been stated in numerous threads mentioning 476 the key to using it is the thin coat and the key to 845 is making sure its shook good. I'm very pleased with the results,as far as durability I'm going to do my car every 3 months anyway,even though after most washes I use the spray Souveran.I save the liquid Souveran and Fuzion(beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder) for the warmer months,when I don't mind throwing a coat on every month.No matter what u decide to use the bottom line is the final outcome is really based on that good ole prep work you've done b4 hand,theres more to this detail thing than your lsp that makes it happen.Variety is the spice of life so a few different waxes is good,I think most of us have our favorites,that work for us,for what ever reasons.I dont think you can go wrong with any of the Collinites.

I guess I'm lucky. My wife complains that she has no shoes, but I have a ton of waxes:dblthumb2: Now useless clothes taking up all the closet space, that's another story.
 
You can't go wrong with 845 or 476..just FYI, 885 is the same stuff as 476, just marketed differently and is a better value.

My experiences are that 845 and 476/885 look decent, are easy to apply/remove, and last a LONG time. I heard of some people saying 476/885 is hard to remove if you don't apply it super thin. I don't know if the formula was changed or what, but it was very easy to apply/remove regardless of how thick I applied it.

You might also want to check out 3M Performance Finish. It's the only product I've found that lasted longer than Duragloss and Collinite products, and it's affordable and easy to use. Of course results are subjective to certain conditions, but on a car with a nice 1 year old clear coat paint job, sitting outside through a south Florida summer, 3M outlasted the other two by a couple weeks.

Just my two cents, but I wouldn't use any of the Dodo waxes. They are overpriced and don't look all that good. I mean, they look alright, but not for the money. Plus they sweat. I understand when you get into the higher end waxes, you will get sweating, but if I'm going to put up with sweating, it will be from Swissvax, not Dodo. Spend $20 and get yourself a jar of Poorboy's Natty's blue. It looks better than any Dodo wax and far less money in my opinion.
