It may depend on the vehicle that you are using. OCW seems to have the best durability of the five that I've tried (Optimum Car Wax (OCW), DG AquaWax, Pinnacle Souveran Spray, CG Speed Shine and Wax, and OG ShowOff). Details below if you are interested.
OCW
It is still my favorite. I've been using Optimum Car Wax (OCW) for about 2 years as both a LSP and protection/finish renewal purposes. My personal durability testing suggests good beading and protection that lasts for months on our garaged, DDs.
My inlaw's Maxima lives outside and the finish looked great for at least a couple of months. It was the only wax that I had used on my wife's girlfriend's '09 C-300 Mercedes (until Saturday when I used Fuzion for fun) since I removed water spots, swirls and bird dropping stains about 18 months ago. I normally apply it 1x per month to prolong protection on our personal vehicles (over either DGPS or Fuzion) and she used it when washing her own car at home.
Very nice on metallic paints (Nissan light silver, Audi dark gray, Mercedes dark gray, BMW champagne beige, Dodge dark gray) and white (BMW alpine white, Honda white, Ford white). Have not used it on Black, Red, Blue, Yellow or Green.
I best describe the finish as a sparkling clear with a carnauba depth. Nice slickness. Cars stay clean longer when I use OCW. Very good beading although I seem to get smaller, tighter drops with DGPS when first applied. I have used OCW as a drying aid but mainly apply it after blowing off or partially towel drying the vehicle.
Old Tiger tells me that OCW streaks on him with his hot, humid weather while it didn't streak before he moved from the SF Bay area. I don't have that problem at all. I now buy OCW by the gallon.
AquaWax
I have not used Aquawax extensively but IMO, it has a little more golden tint to it with almost a candy apple coating look. Very nice on our old Champagne Beige BMW but I didn't like it on my white bimmer. Lots of people seem to like this as a drying aid, which is how I used it. Old Tiger tells me that it doesn't streak on him with humid weather.
I didn't like it as my cars didn't seem to stay clean looking as long as they do with OCW. I sensed that the vehicle picked up some type of dirt/dust coating within a couple of days. The finish on my wife's car just always seemed to look hazed or dirty within a few days.
CG Speed Shine and Wax
I liked it the first time that I used it. Very slick, maybe the slickest of the 4. I stopped using it as it kept streaking on me. I didn't feel that it had as great of durability as OCW. More like a QD in my hands. I have to admit that the car seemed to stay pretty clean looking between weekly car washes. Definately lasted longer than Souverain Spray Wax.
OG Show Off
I'm not sure if I would call it a spray wax. It is a quick detailer carrier with carnauba wax to add additional wax protection. I mainly used it as a drying aid after washing every week but occasionally as a QD. It complimented OG's carnauba wax finish and I used it for nearly 10 years before I decided to try new things a couple years back. I was able to go months between wax projects and the car was always easy to clean.
Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax
I've used it twice. Once on my buddy's metallic champagne Honda truck and once on my new white bimmer. Very nice shine when first applied. It helped bring out the fleck on the Honda.
I ran out of OCW two weeks ago after one of our friends asked my son to wash and wax her car. My gallon refill was in route from AG and my new alpine white BMW needed a little help. I have no idea what wax was used by the dealer to prep the new car but it was terrible. Beading was gone after a week. I decided to try the Souverain Spray wax instead of OCW. I felt that it gave the paint a nice shiny glisten as a booster wax.
I washed the car yesterday with Optimum Car Wash which is normally pretty gentle to wax. The car was covered in a black dust in only a week with quite a bit of fallout sticking to the paint. Beading was only moderate with mainly large drops which surprised me as the car is garaged much of the time. I would call this spray wax a dust magnet.
While the finish is actually pretty nice when first applied, I don't feel that the finish is durable. It does not seem to provide the same protection level as OCW (or my normal standards of WG DGPS and Fuzion for that matter) when it comes to beading and preventing the sticking of fallout (sap, brake dust, rail dust (iron filings) to the paint.
While dirt and debris normally float off the surface of my cars when I wash them, I had to work at washing the car in comparison. Granted, this new car has not be stripped, clayed, polished and treated with my typical base coat of DGPS or Fuzion; however I expect any spray wax or sealant to provide a barrier to help keep stuff from sticking to the paint for more than a week. Good for looks but it's not the right product for me.
