Hi folks

I realized yesterday that I am too low on Zaino to even do a complete coat of my car, so after finally getting my butt off the couch and claying the winter junk out of my paint, I now have nothing to protect it with.

I have an Arctic White BMW so there isn't much gloss to be had off the paint - but when it's clean it is a nice, crisp, bright white. I found the Zaino helped keep it that way.

I liked the protective properties of the Zaino - it lasted a long time. It was a bit of a pain to apply if you wanted multiple coats, but when the job was done I liked the results.

I am thinking of trying something else and I would like to know what is recommended. I am looking for something long lasting and easy to apply. Your recommendations are appreciated.

The only sealant I have used is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant 3.0. Oh my! It is very nice, easy application and removal. I put it on my wife's car that sits outside 24/7 and got about 5 months out of it.

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine.

If you want to try something different, Collinite 845 is awesome! It's not a sealant, but it is very durable and long lasting.

I've used BFWD, Power Lock and Dg 105. All fantastic. But if I had to choose one it would be BFWD. both power lock and Dg 105 last slightly longer. But BFWD just looks so so nice.

If you like the look of Z then you might want to consider DG (Duragloss) 105 mixed 4-1 with DG 601. Much less expensive than Z and really only requires one coat to last a good 6 months with great protection.

Beyond that there are so many great sealants out there these days that you need to do some reading and decide what properties you like--some ideas--Sonax Polymer Net Shield, Collinite 845,476 or 915, Finish Kare 1000p, HD Poxy, Menzerna Power Lock to name just a few.

The ones I have used and liked:

Blackfire Sealant

Menzerna Powerlock (Using now)

They are excellent.

Thanks everyone!

I am now full out of Z2 so I'll do some reading and then order up my next product. Thanks again for the suggestions.

I used Menzerna CL on my Arctic White corvette with good results....

I went from Zaino to Duragloss 105/601 and back to Zaino. There are threads all over the interweb that say Duragloss 111 is extremely similar to Zaino Z-2 so I finally gave it a try about 2 weeks ago. I can tell you that DG111 goes on identical to Z-2. Just as easy to apply and remove and a few drops go a looooong way. They both even give the same plastic appearance which I have always liked. I did use the 601 bonding agent which is pretty much the same thing as the old Zaino Z-1. I'll go right back to Zaino if the 111/601 is not as durable as Z-2. The 111/601($21.00 for both) is less expensive then Z-2/ZFX combo.

Four Star UPP .... looks like Zaino Z5Pro and Z8 together, and much slicker.

You are going to get a hundred different responses. Use what you want.

Reminds me of the "what products do you use?" thread....
:wow: ...Tough crowd!
I think I'll join in. :D

your chips ain't right;
By the time you can afford it,

Some in the past have touched upon, and sort of believed that Zaino, and Duragloss just might be one in the same!

And I could be easily persuaded to believe that.

Let's take a product such as Duragloss #111, a pure Sealant, with no cleaners in it, sells for about $9-$10 for an 8oz bottle at local Carquests.

Duragloss Clear Coat Polish (CCP) #111

I have both on hand, (Z2 annd #111) and I'll comment. They almost look the same, smell the same, consistency is close to the same, go on the same, come off the same and probably last the same.

Is Duragloss making product for Zaino? It could be possible.

I don't think you could make a mistake with any of the Duragloss products, or Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, or Menzerna Powerlock.

I've tried them all, and all are very excellent products.

There is an endless sea of products out there. Because I don't have the time or money to try everything out there I settled on two.

Duragloss 111. I picked it up locally, and fell in love with it's performance. Thus I keep using it.

I also like the Meguiar's M21 Synthetic Sealant.

I will continue keeping these in stock. I would like to try Optimum's Opti Seal though.

Giving soft99 fusso coat some love. Easy to apply and slick as hell!!!

The water beading and sheeting is the best of anything I've used. Might be hard to get your hands on depending where you are
