Hey guys, with christmas coming around, i figured id try to get some goodies from my friends and family. Im looking for a quality carnauba wax for my car. Ive actually never used a high quality wax before and im really interested to see the difference between that and just sealent(which still is a great). Money wise, i mean....of course id love to buy the expensive stuff, but id hate to buy it, then realize i could have gotten something just a good for a lower price. Any ideas would be great

Also, i know i promised pictures from my first detail with my kit, but believe it or not....it has rained and snowed every day here in VA and my car stays clean for 2 hours and then is ruined(what a bummmer feeling that is). My car is metallica black if that helps someone in finding me a good carn.wax

Preciate it, Tyler

pinnacle sig series is great,, or souveran .... both are my favorite paste waxes!!!!!

ohhhh alright,. Hey thrland, do you recommend paste or hard waxes??

souveran paste...i rarley use liquid waxes anymore . as far as hard or soft . not sure were this would be classifed as . i can say there both easy on and easy off and wipe very easy on an applicater pad ....

You can't beat Collinite 915 for the money. Looks great, is inexpensive and lasts longer then any carnauba wax I have ever tried.

Since you already have a sealant. I would recommend Poorboys Natty's blue or red. If you are looking for a good liquid wax, I recommend Surf City Garage Barrier Reef.:buffing:

I vote for Souveran paste...gives the best finish out there, though it is on the pricey side. It would be really at it's best on a black car like yours. The downside is it isn't all that durable...it's a show wax, not a long lasting one.

If money outlay is a big consideration, Griot's Carnauba Wax Stick is outstanding, as is their Best of Show Wax. The Best of Show, while it makes for a really beautiful finish, it takes more effort than their Carnauba Wax Stick.

I don't know where in VA you live, but a close buddy lives in Newport News, and he has to contend with a lot of pollutants in that area plus the seagulls with their toxic, paint-ruining excrement. He says what they drop is like nuclear waste.

If you are going to purchase your wax here I would rec. Dodo SN, Nattys blue or Souveran for you black vehicle. Souveran is your least durable out of those three.

Sig Series II or DP MaxWax for metallic paints. These 2 will out perform souveran in pulling out the metallic. For all out wetness Souveran is really hard to beat. The end result will only be as good as the prep work laid before it. .02

sounds to me like you need something with some durability....Collinite 476 or 845 IW....available at Harbour Freight stores or right here on AG!!

Sig Series II or DP MaxWax for metallic paints.
what he said plus if your looking for a wet look you can look into P21s either concourse or 100% carnauba if you dont wanna spend a pretty penny on souveran Paste.

One more vote for Natty's Blue. I get well over a month out of one coat in Northern VA. Also beads very well imo, and it is inexpensive...smells great...looks great on all colors...

Any of the Pinnacle waxes seem to be highly respected on almost every detailing website out there. I would give Signature Series 2 or Souveran a try, depending on your budget.

Pinnacle paste waxes, DP Max Wax, or the new Wolfgang Fuzion is awesome!!!
Now you can also look at Dodo Juice! Collect all 8 samples!:righton:
