i am just wondering if zaino products can be applied by hand? if so i have the following questions. i will be working on a silver 202 kia sorrento suv, whose owner doesn't have a lot of money, but still wants the kia to look good. she knows that i will not remove all of the scratches or swirl marks, by hand and that i will just be filling them in with an appropriate product. the kia is in pretty good shape, not a lot of swirls, scratches etc. having said all of that, can someone give me some ideas of which zaino products to use on it? i will be claying the kia first just to at least make sure the surface is nice and clean the $84.00 starter kit looks good but again i am looking for advice on which of their products to use. any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave Pursey.

Z5pro has a filler and it is recommended to use as much as 5 layers to see if it can hide all swirls/scratches, if not prepare/correct properly. It has also been said it may take more than 5 layers and others say that the filling capability is not as advertised. However Z5pro is really nice on dark colors, I love it on my black Audi and I think has better if not best durability and longevity compared to other sealants. All Zaino is designed to be hand applied but Z5pro could be applied with a DA with red pad (same with Z2pro but green pad for ZAIO). In your case I advise to wash/clay, then use ZAIO followed by Z5pro layers with Z6 in between. ZAIO has a mild polish and protection and is said to be a good pre-sealant layer. I don't guarantee all swirls will not be visible especially under a high sunny day but nevertheless you'll be happy with result.

My recommendation for hand application is:

Wash
Clay
Wash or ISO wipedown or Z6 (take your pick)
ZPC-Fusion
ZFX'd Z5Pro x3

OR:
Wash
Clay
Wash or ISO wipedown or Z6 (take your pick)
ZAIO
Z5Pro x 1 then additional layer as needed every 24 hours

That is what I would do given your parameters.

If you're looking for Zaino advice the website "Detailer's Club" is a great resource. It's a forum similar to this one but there's a large number of Zaino guys who post there.

While Detailers Club is a great source for Zaino advice from the erudite detailers that frequent that forum do not be dismayed if you find that you are unable to open the Detailer Club page at this time. They have been having server problems for quite some time and are slowly working out the kinks and providing a new server.

As you can read from the above post 'Detailer's Club' contributors post on this forum too, so just ask ....

Zaino offers a complete system as do most products, it is simply necessary to still follow the basics from washing -- clay-- polishing -- and then protecting.
