I've been cutting my teeth using the GG6 d/a and meguiars Soft Buff 2.0 pads. After the trial and error from my self education and lots of referring back to this site and others I'm looking for good alternatives to the Megs pads. Not so much that I am dissatisfied with them but I know there's better out there. Lake Country seems to be a very popular choice among the masses so I'm looking for what LC pads in similar sizes to the Soft Buff 2.0 pads are comparable to the yellow and black pads? I want something that will yield similar results to start with and then work out from there.
Thanks.

6.5" hydrotechs, yellow Meg's = tangerine hydro, black Meg's = red hydro

Lake Country makes some nice pads.

The 5 1/2 inch size is very popular for the machine you mention and work very well. I like than and this is what I use on my Porter Cable 7424 dual action polisher.

Lake Country 5 1/2 x 7/8 inch Beveled Edge Foam Pads, buffing pads, Lake Country curved edge pads, polishing pads

If you're currently using 6 1/2 in pads, in order to use the pads above you'll also need to switch the backing plate to a smaller diameter.

lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate

Thanks for the recommendations, anyone got any others?

As long as it uses a standard 5/16 x 24 thread arbor it will work on the GG6.

Mike I like the LC Hydrotechs, Also I have a vehical to work on this coming weekend if you would like to stop over and try them yourself you are more than welcome to!

Mike I'll get the vehical confirmed and send you Pm with my cell #

I have the Griots 3" & 6" ROP as well as a couple of LC pads. They're all the same thread.

I dont think anything is as good as the new Megs DA MF System on the GG! Just my $.02 FWIW.
