Hi folks, I just joined today and I'm a total noob when it comes to car detailing. I know enough to use the two bucket method and to use microfiber to was and dry the vehicle. I'm planning on claying the car this week and would like to seal/wax as well. Need something that's easy to apply by hand as I don't have any type of orbital machine as of yet. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated ( car is new, '15 black ford focus ST )

I saw that Griots has The One-step Sealant as well, anyone use that? (saw it a auto zone is why I ask, readily available to me)

Hello and welcome. I second the Blackfire total polish and seal and have recently given Wolfgang Uber AIO a whirl and have been pleased with the results (using a DA polisher).
 
Greetings CaptN D, if you have the time and like to experiment, get yourself some spray waxes of different brands and paste wax of differing brands. Have fun and see how each performs and meets your expectations. And of course have quality microfiber towels at the ready. Part of detailing your vehicle is enjoyment of the moment. Good luck
 
TBH i dont think you will notice a difference with any AIO if youre only doing it by hand. HD speed is my go to AIO to answer your question
 
HD Speed by far is the best AIO I've ever used. I think the majority on here will agree.

Convenience for now to be totally honest. I'd just like to get a quality product down on the paint for looks and protection for now. I'm aware that layering is the best route to go but for now I think and AIO will hold me over till I can experiment w different brands of products. I'm saving up for a DA right and just trying to get the basics in my garage

Meguiar's M66 is a really potent product, and leaves a great finish.
 
I think the OP is probably better off, just selecting a cleaner wax and pinching pennies until he can afford a DA starter kit.

Yeah I don't think a all in one will help you just by using the hand polishing method I think you would be better just claying the car and using something like meguiars ultimate paste wax.

the KEY word he used was "by hand"

Hand polishing isn't easy as it will just get you some gloss, but you will have to work for it.

My recommendation? Is chemical guys BLACKLIGHT, it is a gloss enhancing glaze that has some sealant protection in it as well, and that fits the bill perfect for what you are looking for.

It is a glaze/sealant so it will hide imperfections and fill them in and make your paint shine more and reflect better.

It isn't a cure all fix, but for a hand application this is probably one of your better bets.

Again nothing will beat machine polishing, but if your going to apply by hand this is the route I would go

(Quick tip) if you do apply Blacklight, I would top it would a wax or sealant to try to lock in the fillers to make your car appearance from the Blacklight last longer.
