Looking for some marketing ideas to help generate business through this holiday season. Of course business is usually slow this time of year but I know there are cars out there that need to be cleaned. We are next to a movie theater so I am offering free movie passes with the purchase of any detail package.

Any other ideas?

I'll shoot you off a nice list:
  • Business cards
  • Door handle fliers-Attach Business Cards
  • Free post area billboards
  • Offer yearly detail specials (2nd detail of or wax of year, get $10 off next wax)
  • Offer permanent discounts when people register your website: 5% off
  • Brochures
  • How to fliers
  • Offer discounts when deductible # is reached. (i.e. If you spend over $150, get a coupon for 25% off next time)
  • Offer members cards
  • Referrals discounts (groupons, or gift packages to be bought for others)
  • Take down numbers and do call backs every 3 months, client history is everything.
  • Go to EVERY car show that's near you, and hand out business cards or do touch ups for people's cars on site.
  • Offer members cards
  • Referrals discounts (groupons, or gift packages to be bought for others)
  • Offer small bottles of quick detailers or a cheap MF towel with no edges and tag
  • Have your site have a comments section to ask for services you don't offer. The more you offer, the more options you open for yourself

There's all kinds of things you can do to outsource. It's all about what your motivation is and how persistent you are.

One thing you could do that would be AMAZING!!! and would probably really make you appeal to anyone else that is out there is... donations to charities. Every wash or service done, $1-2 donated to bla bla charity.

I know when I start up, I'll be doing that. I used to do community service forever... and let me tell you: It's a great feeling knowing you can help people. When people see a business (especially independent) that would be willing to donate to a charity or foundation, it really makes a difference. If people see that, you could possibly have people who might be willing to back or offer contributions to help your business. Just my .02 cents.

Notice: If this offends anyone, I apologize if I've offended you in anyway. I would never use charity for business purposes only, I think it would be a good opportunity to offer.

Are you open at night when people are going to the movies? It would be cool to be able to drop your car off for a quick wash & vac and pick it up after the movie. Make a list of services that you think can complete in under 2 hrs and make it a movie special. It might give you a chance to sell more services at a later date.
