Looking for the best car wash shampoo

DP Xtreme Foam, either in a foam gun or by hand. Tons of foam and wash mitt really slides across the paint. Love this stuff.

Not really if you add it all up. GC takes 1oz per gallon, DP is only 1oz to make 3-5 gallons.

DP is 32oz for $16, GC is $10-$12 for 64oz BUT you will be using 3-5 times as much product. The value is in the higher end products as most of them only use 1oz for several gallons.

The DP label says use 2-3 ounces per 5 gallons of water. I never use more than 3 gallons of water to wash a car. So I guess it's safe to assume that 1 1/2 ounces of DP to 3 gallons will do a marvelous job and is also the best value.

However, I'll have to use up this garage sale find first. Im the MAN

I'm going off what the directions say on the DP page here on AG. I guess they got it wrong?

Wash Bucket

1. Pour 2-3 ounces of DP Xtreme into a 5 gallon wash bucket, such as the Pinnacle Complete Wash System. Activate foam with a strong jet of water.
2. Wash the vehicle as directed above. Rinse and towel dry.

Dubbin I am not sure about your math but I do know what people are paying for MEGS Gold Glass and how I mix it - I use 1 ounce in 3 gallons of water in a 5 Gallon Bucket to wash most cars. I am able to buy Gallons all the time for under $10.00 from a number of sources and sometimes under $9.00 a gallon. Half Gallons (64OZ) are readily available for $6.00. so typically I am spending 8 to 10 cents or less for car wash chemicals to wash each car. I have never had bad results with this ratio whether it was in a bucket or a foam gun. SO I am sticking with MEGS GC !

I'm going by what the site says for the amount of DP to use and off the jug of GC that I have in the garage.

As far as the price on the GC, I read your post too fast and didn't see you were buying it by the gallon, I was thinking you were paying that much for the 64oz bottle :)

I use the Meguire's Gold Class here as well. Cheap, easy to find, and has a nice, smooth feel.

+1 for the Meg's GC...I love that shampoo

I still love Duragloss 901 best overal, slick, smells good, suds like a mofo, and fairly cheap. But for teh most part washes are so good now you can't really go wrong with any of the boutique products, Meg's Gold Class is decent for otc.

Well it has finally happened ! One of those "Cost" savings warehouse clubs has Gallon Size Gold Class Car Wash (128 OZ) for $7.49 or a little over 5 Cents an ounce. I often use one or two ounces per vehicle. Meguiars has gotten more and more agressive with their marketing at the BIG 3 Warehouse Clubs and we all wind up the winners. Now for those of us who like to Support AG exclusively. Megan says she will price match. SO I imagine in this case because AG does not carry the GALLONS they might be willing to do 2 half Gallons at $3.74 each. I am not sure what she would need perhaps just a picture of the Display in the Store showing the price. That way we can get a reduction of about 72%. Put it with a regular order over the free shipping limit and you will not bare those cost.

GOLD CLASS by MEGS is a really great Car Wash and at that price it is a steal.

If you see an item for less at another online store, we will match or beat that price. It’s that simple.

I am pretty sure big box stores or the warehouse clubs do not qualify.

sorry to endorse a product not sold here, but i've tried all products mentioned.. but I have to say that Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss is by FAR IMHO the best shampoo.

I like Cirus Wash and Gloss for wheels. I believe it leaves behind a protective shield that makes getting the brake dust off easier next time around. I have purchased several items from them . Their Butter Wet Wax and Wet Mirror Finish are great !
