I wonder if The Bays Wheeling will be adding one, they've got 3 of the originals

Amazon has a special with the blower and two 4ah batteries for $400. A single 4ah battery sells for $250 so you're basically getting two batteries at 20% off with a free blower thrown in. I've had my eye on this deal for a week now and I'm trying to find a good reason to upgrade my 765.

They are selling for that everywhere at that price...it is a good deal for sure based on battery prices alone

I'd like to see a comparison Between this new Ego blower and their previous models. If one doesn't have a cordless blower then yes I'd consider one but $400.00 is a lot to pay for a blower and the previous model gets the job done.
My old corded blower works great but messing with the cord gets to be a pain.

After using the EGO Blower at The Bays I could never think of using a cord, the freedom is awesome

I also didn't feel like they were lacking in power - while I get that the added power in the new unit is probably handy for moving around "wet leaves, rocks, mud and snow" how much additional benefit is added for just drying cars?

Wow. I just added the 765 in December and felt like I could've gone down a level or two. It packs a punch.

They get much more powerful and the paint will blow right off

The 765 cfm does an amazing job. An extra 5ah battery is $300. So $100 more I get 2 4AH batteries and a new blower…. I wish y’all wouldn’t have posted it

No, I think you did the right thing there.

I have the (previous) top-spec 765 for detailing. I then bought a 530 for my father to use around the house, the user experience is very different between the two. The 530 is just too lean, so you have no option to run it in turbo mode the whole time, be that for cars or garden work. It also doesn't have a variable throttle trigger, so its either on or its off. But most of all, I hate the 530 due to the annoying lag time between squeezing the trigger and it actually turning on. That might sound trivial, but the lag is super annoying.

The 765 on the other hand is a beast. In fact, it was actually the most powerful hand-held leaf blower on the market, be that battery powered or gas powered. In theory, the 615 and 650 would be a happy medium, but apparently they have a much higher pitched sound frequency.

As for the new 880, it appears to look very bulky and unbalanced. The 765 has a slimmer, more compact footprint that would better suit detailing.

765 -

880 -

765 v 880......................................

Interesting to note that you need at least the 4.0 ah battery for the 880 to be fully capable.

Are you talking hand held gas powered??
Because I'll tell ya there is noway the 765 holds a candle to my Husky

Yes, gas powered handheld leaf blowers such as the Stihl BG86 or Husqvarna 525BX. I've had both of those and the EGO 765 is stronger, both on paper and in action.

I mean, I suppose I could use my Magnum for drying off a car............................................

I do every time I do a car or truck......finishes it in 3 to 4 minutes

Do you know the weight difference between the 765 and the 880?

I have used a very old EGO blower, and agree, that lag is super annoying, especially when you're working and you stop it to pick up a stick or something, and it seems to take forever to start back up.
