Been along time since I have been on this forum. Im glad to see its still active and strong...........I will be driving to Miami on Sept 22 and 23 from Atlanta and was.wondering if Love Bug season is going on now. If it is does anyone have any suggestions on keeping them off my car and how to remove them?........Thanks in advance........Steve

Hey Steve, I'm near I-75 and the turnpike. They are out right now and will diminish as you get further south. You can clean them daily with Bug Squash or you can make a Blue Painter's Tape Bra for the trip

I just drove from NJ to Orlando and my windshield and bumper took a beating. I had a few coats of wax on there to start so I was able to use a quick spray speed wax when I stopped at hotels but I would use something like WaxMaster1 suggested as it has better cleaning properties or a general quick detailer and a MF. Unfortunately, you'll hit them and they make a mess like you already know. I personally found they got worse the further south I drove.

I'm in SW Florida and I've yet to see any this year. Hope I just didn't jinx myself...

Kenotek Anti Insect for the removal.....I'm in NJ...so no love bugs....but lots of other types to deal with. Our vehicles get Meguiars Ultimate Wax (actually a sealant) on the fronts.....makes them easier to get off

Hasn't started in Englewood. (20 miles south of Venice)

If you can spare the time I would get some collinite.apply the whole front and mirrors.once applied you won't need any special bug removal chemical. No bugs near Palm beach.

Fresh coat of wax prior to your trip. Then bring some RW and some MF'S with you.

FYI... Don't take Nova Road (the scenic route) between Buena Vista and Cape Canaveral... I don't think quick detailer is gonna help me to much, lol.

Thanks for all the replies and info.....Just put on 2 coats of Wolgang sealant 3.0 and will put a coat of P21 carnuba over the mirrows and the front grill and bumper along with Rainex on the windshield. I got Turtlewax tar and bug remover on sale and I could always stop at Autogeek in Stuart on the way down to pick up the Bugsquash if its really bad...........Steve
