Love Folex buuutttt.

Had a customer with some BAD stains in her carpeting from a coke. My steps were:

  • Soak with folex
  • scrub with brush
  • dab with rag
At this point stains were 65-70% better so I steamed them and they got better but I wanted more improvement and then I remembered getting a sample m 303 spot remover sent to me and walah stains gone.

Now what im wondering is did the 303 do so well because the folex did its job or is 303 my new spot remover?

Any thoughts?

Steve

Assuming you mean real steam not a carpet extractor. Before you steam, spray the Folex again, then steam over the area with the Folex on.

Just bought another gallon of Folex today! Can't believe how quickly we've been going through it. I have to admit, I am underwhelmed, sadly. All the rave reviews from every corner of the internet, Amazon to Home Depot's website all have glowing recommendations. Perhaps it's one of those "Gravity" effects, when every critic with a pulse on the planet gets your expectations sky-high (not to mention the Oscars), so when you finally SEE the movie... it's GREAT, but not spine-tingling awesome. Folex is effective, YES, but I feel like it's more of a weak detergent free alternative for people who want to take a safe route toward stain removal.

The effects are perhaps to broadly based, and not as focused as the result to be achieved using items developed just for certain spills, organic/protein, oil-based, ink and so forth. But at $16 a gallon at Home Depot, it strikes a good balance. :)

TOTALLY agree!

For a good 'all around spotter', Folex is outstanding. When those tricky stains, like blood or similar tricky stain...that's when heading for your local janitorial supply store comes into play. Those guys (and gals) have access to spotting materials and solutions that just aren't readily available OTC.

Just my 2¢...

Bill

Very true but probably the funniest line Ive seen posted here in quite a while!!! lol lol lol

"Dirt likes detergent so much better than the surface that it's attached to, it'll leave that surface to go hang out with the soap."

Yeah, dirt is a little loose. It'll lay on anything, but if you let it stay around too long, it becomes a bit clingy.

I used folex to get month old dried blood out and didn't have a need for a dedicated product. Dwell time is very important with folex.

Having a dog - it is priceless to have some around the house.

Really? Hmmm Ive seen several posts regarding Folex. Ive yet to try it, right now im using Ultima.
