OMG!! Craig. Too Funny!!! Bet you have tons of stories to share, but not in mixed company. LOL. My hats off to you.....16 yrs of service. You have way too much of PTO. Time to use some of that PTO for a vacation (mental days off). Just like me, I need those "mental days off" so I don't "burn out". Wish I could look forward to retiring soon too.

My cousin works at a prison too and he has the same stories. Thing is, he makes a LOT of money (works at one of the baddest in CA) and can retire in like 10 years (before he is 40).

Retire in ten years, that's real good. Pay good, yes. Have you ever wonder why? Listen to the stories, that tells it all. The job isn't for everyone, so they have do do something to get the position filled. I was 32 when I started, the young guys were smart for taking the job early, retire young, then live a normal life around normal people. That is one thing about working at a prision, you don't have to think about, who to keep a eye on, who not to trust.
Simple, everyone.

I go to work, do my 8 hrs, come home at midnight, start reading where I left off. OMG, you guys are a bunch of sick puppies. Alban61, here's one you'll like, you did bring up the sphincter muscles, don't blame me. We got some max security inmates in. We have to strip search all inmates, comming in or leaving. We get to this one guy and give the order, "bend and spread it", (we don't go in anything, if ya know what I mean, that would be a doctors job) and here's plastic baggie looking thing hanging out. (know what I hate? people that complain about the view from their office window. wanta trade?) "Ok, pull it out". What do ya know, two cell phones and two chargers. That's right, I said two, 2, the number 2. One would be unreal, but 2. :grouphug: (that is the officers saying, OMG did you see what he had up his....)That amount of space in drugs, you get the idea. You stated tight sphincter? If that's tight I would hate to see, forget it. Now to the females, no, I'm not going there. If there's a place to hide something, or thingsssss, a inmate will know where to. Totoland Mach, Thank you very much for your kind words. Nica, you keep saying pick me, pick me. Is that for the strip search? Hey Doc, we have one for ya. , and bring the BIG probe. No problem buddy, we'll make sure your stay is comfortable. It's all free, even the check up. The state has ya covered. Now I'm depressed , 16 years (thank the Lord I can count my 4 year of service) of looking at......., now I'm crying. Ok, I got it together, I just have to remember, Feb 2, 2006, 48 years old and I can retire. I have 1250 hrs of sick time and 350 hrs of vacation to burn. I guess it's not as bad as think it is, it just gets to ya sometimes.
