I have spent the last month or so experimenting with different waxes to see what will really make the metallic in my paint pop. I first used OTC Meg waxes. The Meg's ultimate paste wax applied under a coating of dura gloss was amazing. The problem is that it doesn't last and attracts dust and pollen like crazy. Last week I tried dodo juice blue velvet topped with purple haze. My car is super glossy but the metallic is really hidden and my car just looks navy blue and it also attracts pollen like crazy. Any recommendations for a wax that will really make the metallic pop? Also the car has recently been polished and clayed.View attachment 35683after dg sealant and Meg's paste waxView attachment 35684View attachment 35685after Dj View attachment 35686

Just use the Duragloss or Collinite 845. Those are great choices for flake. Blackfire Wet Diamond isn't too bad either.

I didn't care for the dura gloss by itself.... This was why I tried some paste wax over it. That produced the desired effect but quickly dissipated. I tried the Dj combo after seeing several pictures on other peoples posts so I decided to give it a try. The shine is amazing. It is super easy to use and the water beading is great. I just don't care for how dark my car looks. I have read on the description of other products and some same it is great for metallics. I was wondering what others had used with great success. I prefer a paste wax. I have been considering souveran or wg but has to spend that much and hate the effects. I am now leaning towards trying several different Dj since it is relatively inexpensive for a sample.

Most paste Waxes will wind up "graying-out":
Metallics quickly become muted.

Sealants: Now that's the ticket for Metallics!

In my opinoin the blue looks very deep . If the metalic is muted, so what, the color is beautiful.

Despite how some claim "all wax looks the same", BV does give what I describe as a crayon blue look. It's different for sure.

Thank you for the compliment. I could not get a very good picture of the car. It is even brighter blue up close and a very striking metallic. The paint is a 3 stage paint- black, purple, and then blue. After my previous detail, it looked like it was navy blue and the metallic was not noticeable at all. it was rather boring looking. I fell in love with the unusual paint color. I am just growing tired of waxing it every week and was looking for a product that allowed for a couple of months between waxing. I also hate paying a lot for wax to determine that I don't really like it. I also really prefer the looks of a wax versus a sealant. I am thinking that the blue velvet made the blue too dark. It did look really great on my husbands black bmw though.

Has anyone tried DJ supernatural, rainforest rub, basics of bling, or light fantastic? I really loved how easy it is to apply and a fantastic wet shine.
