Lowes ONR grout sponge...

I know its twice as much as the "premium" ones sold here and I can't comment on those because I've never used them, just the $2.50 one from Home Depot and I did like it while I used it but when I saw the Aqua sponge I just had to try it and haven't looked back since. IMO spending the extra $5-6 for this isn't that much of a risk and I can honestly say that this sponge is a great product. Maybe someone here will step up and buy one and either back me up or shoot me down on this, LOL!

What's so special about this Aqua sponge that it's worth the cost of 6 Lowes grout sponges?

It looks like the same sponge. If you click on "2 new from $2.40" on the Amazon site one of the sellers is Vanguard Wholesale who is the same seller on Ebay. They sell them cheaper through Amazon even when you add the shipping.

You are soooooooooooo right, great find, too bad I didn't post this sooner:o

This sponge is super soft and has about a trillion, give or take, pours and that's alot more than the one I have from Home Depot and I guarantee you guys this, go to Amazon and pick yourself up a couple and you'll be hooked. I even tried using my MF mitts and they just don't do anywhere near as good of a job as the grout sponges do.

Once again, GREAT find!

just bought 10 for $2.80 a piece! Should last me a while...

Sounds good, I'll give them a try. How do you find their durability? The Lowes sponges start leaving little bits of sponge on my car after 10 to 20 uses.

I like and use ace grout sponges at 2.20 a piece at their online outlet website {pack of 12 =26.55}. it is very durable unlike lowes yellow colored ones. it looks identical to the aqua sponge posted.

I haven't kept count but I know I've used the Aqua sponge more than 20 times between my car as well as my g/f's Mazda 6 and NO issues with it at all. I do take it in the shower with me to clean it after using it, simple shampoo, rub it in and rinse it out (real good) and even stomp on it to get all the dirt out.

Not sure when I'll need a new one, but I'm really glad I commented in here about it, I will now save ALOT of money when I need a new Aqua spnge:props:

And here I've been wasting my time rinsing my wash media in the basement sink and throwing it in the washer!

Aqua sponge is a lot of $$. Many use the Lowes grout sponge approx $2. Another thing is to cut the surface into small squares with sharp knife. Like the lake country wash sponge ($6)

The LC sponge WAS pretty nice. Until I had a really dumb idea to wash it in a washing machine. It turned into a million blue little sponges. But, I quit using sponges. Seems to me that a sponge would keep dirt on the surface on the sponge since the surface is pretty flat. I know the LC sponge is reticulated, but the slits don't open up when dragging it across a panel. I have nothing at all to back this up. Just seems like a MF or wool mit is safer.

Its all about multi-tasking and besides, I'm recycling the waste water and stomping on it gets EVERYTHING out of it too!

Those worried about a sponge holding dirt on the top and it scratching your paint, well, with all the pores it has the dirt just goes inside the sponge, its all good, trust me/us:dblthumb2:

I'm guessing the grout sponge found at the local Home Depot will do an adequate job as well? If it does, and will not leave scratches, then I have a virtually limitless supply of OTC wash sponges. Life is good.

I realize this is an old post, but for those searching....Lowe's gs was a ProLine K-28P. It is now sold in a 2-pack, model K-56P. Or you can buy directly from paintUSA.net and get a case of 12 for $6 plus shipping.
Hope this helps someone searching as much as I was until I figured it out.

i'm down to my last proline tile & grout sponge still in the package. i've checked two lowes locations and none of them carry them anymore, while some say they can still get them. go figure...

haven't used that one ^ but if it's the same as the tile & grout sponge (don't know if it's been discontinued and replaced with that), then it's a winner...
