everyone always says use the softest pad for your lps. but what if i want to use a glaze and a sealer and a wax, should i use the same type pad for each of these?
example would be if i use wolfgangs deep gloss and then use a wax aver it should i use the same type pad for both?

Re: LPS pad choice?

I use the same type of pad (LC CCS Red Pad) for my sealant and waxes.

Re: LPS pad choice?

nice that is was i hoping to hear.. thanks.
so i can use the say a grey pad for a glaze, blue for sealer and red for wax...perfect :) at least on paper.

Re: LPS pad choice?

I use blue and red, it helps me remember which one I used for each product

Re: LPS pad choice?

Yeah you should be good to go with that combo.

Good call Emm! I would do the same if I didn't have an over abundance of the red CCS pads.

Yea when I order pads I order 1/2 red 1/2 blue.

Re: LPS pad choice?

thanks emm,
that is exactly what i was wanting to do. different colors for each.

Re: LPS pad choice?

hey have any of you guys tried the LC CCS gold pad? i hear they save more product then the blue or red pads and do just as good job. or is the "gold jeweling" pad just a gimik and its really just another color finishing pad?

Ok I think I'm lost with this one. I just looked up the pads again and the LC CCS pads only come in Yellow...no gold. And the yellow pad is a high cut pad.

The "Gold Ultra finishing pad" is not available on AG that I've seen. I thought it was for the final "jeweling" polish step not LSP application.

Edit:
O, they only come in 6.5" pad here is the chart. Autogeek Buffing Pad Comparison Chart its the last one listed under the red pads.

would you look at that, there it is! AND says it works well for wax & sealant, nice!

Re: LPS pad choice?

Oh alright. I would think it's just another finishing pad.

hmmm, i think i will have to get one and try it out. at worst i could grey for glaze, blue for sealer, red for liquid wax and then gold for paste wax..hehehe. i will post something on it when i try it out...thanks again, the skies are clearing up nicely and so will my trucks finish:dblthumb2:

To the OP...

I edited your first post and changed the title from

LPS pad choice?

to

LSP pad choice?

LSP = Last Step Product

I guess you could say Last Product Step, but the norm is LSP

:)
lol oopppsss my bad...good catch

thanks for clearing that up! I always wondered what LSP meant. Now I know
