I would like to see what other users have found to be good for lubrication when using a clay bar. My purpose is to find the best stuff for the money. I have used Detail Juice and Quik Detailer spray from many different companies but wonder if there is something else out there.

Yeah, soapy water.

I just use the soapy water as I'm washing with my nano skin sponge. Wash panel, rinse then hold my wash mitt at the top of the panel and clay. Haven't used QD as a clay lube in some time...

I've used foam from my wash bucket, dodo juice, QD, and ONR for clay lube.

Personally I prefer ONR but obviously foam is the most economical.

I am als a user of Optimum No Rinse Wash & a Shine at clay lube dilution. I've used this with my nanoskin sponge.

When washing my car I fill two (2) spray bottles with some of the wash solution prior to actually washing. Never had an issue with marring or low lubricant properties.

I use Pinnacle Rinseless Wash/carnauba with a spray bottle. The dilution ratio is lower. I use that all the time. Saves on buying a specific clay lube product and you can rinseless wash too.

Soap and water.. I'm not sold on "Clay lube" I've used them and it is a waste of money IMO again….IMO!..I am surprised there isn't a Wet sanding lube yet…

:iagree:

If I am claying the whole vehicle, I wash the whole vehicle with a foam cannon, rinse, then hit it with the foam cannon again, then clay.

If I am claying just a section, I use D155.

I make a clean washbucket with your choice of wash and add this to the bucket.
