New to detailing, awesome combo of what m105+m205+PC can do. 3-4 passes of m105 on white LC pad then followed with m205 on black LC pad 4-5 passes+3 passes no pressure, then top with xmt finishing glaze on blue pad and NXT2.0 wax by hand

Great reflection:xyxthumbs:

Look good do u have b4 pix?

Very nice!!! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately no, when i got the car at a dealership b4, they detailed the car but it was full of swirl marks not too heavy

I hate that. I just picked up a new car a few months ago and I told them not to wash it. They looked at me funny and asked y. I said I wanted to do it my self any way they washed it and put some marks in the clear and that's y I said I wanted to do it lol

On scion vehicles, the paint is soft and lil thinner than most toyotas. 3-4 passes with m105 on white lc pad remove most (85-90%) of the swirls and waterspots.

I have yet to try the PO85rd when I get my hands on one because online shopping is the only way here in Hawaii at least for me.

m105 and 205 is my go to paint correction products, i even use m205 as a one step for polishing on most paints(not an AIO) and works great. any reason why you didnt use orange pad with 105 and white with 205? just wondering. ff if you think scion paint is soft, try toyota/lexus/scion single stage super white, that is the exact opposite of soft, i use ultimate compound as a one step polish on the super white toyotas its so hard LOL. great work though for a new guy! btw FF there is a distributor in hawaii of detailing products and they even have the products AG manufacturers its called pak shak i dont know if they are local or not worth a shot though!. (as much as i love ag i know shipping to HI is expensive as heck only reason why i recommended them as their prices are a good bit higher then AG)

I didn't use the orange pad because the swirls were light and not too deep+my scion had a softer paint compare to my father's old corolla. I didn't see any reason to use the orange pad because 105 have a strong cut. I've used 205 b4 on a test spot with white LC pad and it took out most of the swirls but didnt get to the lil heavier ones, 105 took care of that on white LC pad alone in less time+I like to take my time on the finishing polish. Pakshak is not too far from where i live but sometimes they always run out of products the fact that i believe is the only place to grab some menzernas. :props:

105/205 combo is a dream combo for many detailers, but requires a lot of learning and practicing.

I agree with your first comment, but your second comment is way over the top and is not required. I'll presume your problems are with M105, not M205, but please don't blame the product, just because some users here just can't seem get to grips with it.

I've tested a heap of compounds and without doubt M105 does the job it was designed for, far better than anything else I've ever used. Works equally well with a rotary or a DA.

Since you are a fellow aussie, please pm me, I'd be happy to talk with you on how to get the best out of M105.

The title of this thread says it all.

I was on the development team for M105 and M205. I can assure you that one of our objectives was NOT to make a product that required lots of learning and practice to use.

I have the same offer. Anyone can contact me...I will talk them thru how easy these products are to use.

It's true, you can't treat them like a DAT product. But once you get over that speed bump, you are cruising.

Contact me...I can help if you are having trouble with M105.

Did the driver side today, flakes just comes alive when using m205 with black pad on speed 5 then reduce to 4 on the PC(jeweling) :props:

Best part is, m205 is $22 at walmart for 32oz

What problems are u guys having...
I just tried M105 yesterday for the 1st time...
It clear out my gf's BLACK Mini Cooper within 3 passes... w/ GG 5" Orange Pad....
Except it dust quite alot... but nothing really bothered me about this product...

M105/m205 never gave me problem too.
Here's what I did:
1. Prime pad with m105
2. Spray lil detail spray on pad, not too much
3. Add 3 pea size m105
4. Put speed 6 immediately on PC and begin working 3-4 passes 7-9lbs pressure and don't work fast or work on large area
5. Check work, if needed I spray some mist water or detail spray on paint to re-activate m105 for longer working time and for more passes, DON'T ADD OR USE TOO MUCH PRODUCT or else hazing will show
6. With m105, I don't lower the speed or lighten the pressure. I STOP IMMEDIATELY and wipe

M205
1. Prime pad with m205
2. Spray some detail spray, not too much
3. Add 3 pea size m205
4. Put speed 5 on PC and work immediately 3-5 passes 4-5lbs pressure lil bit faster movement than m105
5. Spray some mist water on paint to re-activate m205 if needed
6. Lighten pressure 2-3 passes
7. Lighten pressure again to ZERO(0) pressure 2-3 passes

ENJOY.

Noob question here to all:

When you write for example "3-4 passes" - Do you mean that you do each panel 3-4 times? If yes, aren't you removing to much of the clearcoat?
Or do you mean that when doing a panel, it requires 3-4 passes with the polisher on each section of the panel?

I had alot of problems when I first started using M105. Lately though, I've developed a new appreciation for it. When used correctly, it is one of the most effective compounds on the face of the planet - they key word here is "correctly." I've been working M105 without dusting issues and without needing to use distilled water/mineral oil for a few months now. As you can probably tell, I'm particularly proud of myself for it I guess!

mclovin, 3-4 passes = 3-4 section passes meaning how ever many passes in that section. heres a video from mike P. that explains it.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q70g83mnTn4]How to do a "Section Pass" with a Porter Cable 7424XP - YouTube[/video]

also remember to remove defects you need to remove clearcoat, and some do more then 3-4 passes just depends on the paint and machine, some paints need 2 passes with a rotary and orange pad, some need 6 passes with a da and orange pad. every single vehicle you do requires an adjustment of your method.

to FF it is not needed to spray the pad with detail spray it makes the product more watering and more able to sling, none the less m205 does not need any additional lubrication. also remember m105/205 is not a diminishing abrasive polish so you cannot jewel with it and its too abrasive to be a jewling product, m105/205 uses SMAT abrasives which do not break down like DAT abrasives do so doing a few passes lightening up and slowing speed is pointless for SMAT products. AG's videos do not tell people this as all the pbmg correction products are DAT.
