Is megs105 user friendly for beginners when it comes to compound

It has a little bit of a learning curve. You may want to try ultimate compound as the formula is derived from M105 but it more user friendly.

Do a test spot, try on beater cars or scrap body parts to learn and understand the product and process. Always start least aggressive with pads and product. Saying beginner is vague. Have you worked with a polisher before?

M105 is not beginner friendly. I'm a pro and don't even use it. If you are looking for something user friendly get a bottle of Optimum Hyper Compound, HD CUT, or Wolfgang Uber Compound.

m105 is a great product. but i dont think its for beginners.
it will dry up fast on you.. and it will gum up too.
definitely do small sections at a time, and use the right pads with it.
i use megs 105 with meg mf cutting pads on my rupes 21.

you might need a compound with a little longer working time..when youre first starting out.

When I first started I had the worst luck with m105. Tried megs UC and honestly I still use it for spot buffs.

Ok i will try something diffrent , i have never buffed paint before but have read and watched 5 hrs of video so I'm ready to practice ... I plan on using an orange cutting pad lake country the kind with cirlcles on it.... out of alll the "beginner " compounds above which is easiest to use and not pricey. Oh and plan to follow the compound with white pad and m205

Great idea. My experience is that M105 is not user friendly for beginners. I would highly recommend that you consider Menzerna FG400. Moving to FG400 after struggling with M105 was one of the best detailing moves I have made.

i have used a few polishes out there and 105 definitely is not beginner friendly. it dries quick and is like trying to get cement off your car. some say to spray a little water but havent had a chance to try it. im sure its a great polish but not for beginners

Ok guys so what's the verdict give me 3 products that i xould possibly choose to replace m105, with price

You are probably using way too much product, not changing pads enough, not cleaning pads between sections, or something is horribly wrong because I have never has 105 do any of those things and I've used it on various machines.

Get some meguiars ultimate compound. No drying out, no DAT breakdown issues, low dust. It's as beginner friendly as it gets, and it's available locally at most big chain parts stores.

Any defect that can be removed by polishing can be taken out with UC, it's just a matter of time and technique. Other products may cut better, (read faster) but often have a bit higher learning curve, may cost more, and are really only necessary if you are doing it for a living where time is money.

Now, I do like M205 over the ultimate polish for a second step, because it has less oils and makes prepping for an LSP easier. M205 is much easier to use than M105.

At some point you may need to work with it being it can save you.

For years I've used the 105 and had no issues with, sometimes its over kill so when I can I now use the Wolfgang Uber when its only needed but a couple of weeks ago the Uber didn't have the cut needed so picked up my 105 and made all the difference.
