M205 or sf4000

My answer would be...it depends. Without knowing how much pressure your applying, arm speed, amount of product used...yada yada yada...Doing a test spot with each pad is the only way to know exactly which one finishes down to your satisfaction.

Thanks everyone for their input, all responses were acknowledged and appreciated. Will put in an order for extra finishing pads from the new LC ThinPro and Buff and Shine Low-Pro as well.

On hard German paints will the black/grey soft pads with a finishing polish finish and pop better than using a firmer polish pad like a white?

Would really like an answer to this.

This of course will depend on how aggressive you had to get with your first step.

Generally when I am dealing with hard German paint that is hammered or has been neglected, my first step will be with the PE14, Hybrid wool, and FG400. While this step will knock out the defects it can leave behind some nice halograms.

When I move onto the second refinishing step I will equip the 3401 with the white Hybrid pads combined with SF4000. This combination has the pull in it to remove anything left behind from the first step while finishing out LSP ready.

If a higher degree of finish is desired then I will go over the vehicle a 3rd time with SF4500 on the black Hybrid pad.

For me, my second step is usually the white Hybrid with SF4000 as this combination is well versed and can finish whatever is left behind form first step while finishing out LSP ready. Even if I had to pull out SC300.
