Mainaining ceramic coating. What do you like?

What is your go to for maintaining your coating?

I start off 9 out of 10 times just doing rinseless with either Absolute or N915

I like using Griot's 3 in 1 since it's so easy.

I like using meguiar's hyper wash to maintain any lsp whether its a wax sealant or coating.

I'd personally stay away from griots 3 in 1 as a topper since it is a bit on the heavier side and might mask the hydrophobics, but if you're getting good results with it then I wouldn't worry about it. I have become partial to meguiar's hybrid ceramic detailer when I notice the hydrophobics are lacking.

Ive never used that stuff do you like it? I pass through the car stuff sometimes when i go to wally world just to see if they ever start to carry any more of a "prosumer" brand. I always chuckle at the yuge chemical guys section lol.

Anyway, i cant believe that stuff is 20 bucks for a 10 oz bottle! Better value out there id say

I thought the same thing but the phobes is why i like it. I have tech 252/ Reload / Elixir And it's just the easiest to do a quickie after a good wash. In between washes I use the Echo2 or Elixir.

To maintain, i use onr, usually foamed with lift but have been using armour detail supplys Decon instead.

When i need a deep clean i will use fenlab pure rinseless(average probly once per month). IF i use a topper its been armour detail supply amplify, or so far only once or twice ive used thier ceramic sealant or pa cosmic spritz. Usually only top if going somewhere on the weekend and i want some extra pop.

Just did foam with decon and a bucket wash with descale over the weekend for a deep clean.

Yes I really like it, very user friendly and does a nice job of maintaining hydrophobic properties.

I hear ya on the chemical guys products they're a ripoff!

I actually buy the meg's hcd in a kit that also includes their glass cleaner, interior detailer, wash & wax, tire foam, and a mf towel for around $25 which is a decent value. The glass cleaner and interior detailer are nice, I usually end up donating the wash & wax and tire foam to my neighbors or use it up on one of my family members cars.

You have a solid lineup of toppers, if you're after maintaining peak hydrophobic properties an oldie but a goodie is sonax brilliant shine detailer. Although it can be somewhat finicky to apply, the hydrophobics are very nice.

I too use Meguiars Hyperwash...and that's about it. I've got Gyeon coatings on our two most frequently driven vehicles and they are doing so well, I feel no need to top them with anything at all. One thing I've noticed with Hyperwash is I don't feel the need to do a once or twice a year "shocker" wash with Reset. When I used other soaps like Optimum car wash, coatings would start to loose their water behavior and need to be revived with a wash with Reset. I haven't had to do that at all since I've been using Hyperwash. My next jug of soap is 3D Pink. We'll see how well it does.

Agree with the Griots 3 - 1 too. It's not a good topper, and IMO, not that great of a product in general. The water behavior and durability isn't very good. Putting it on top of a good coating is just hiding a good coating under an inferior spay sealant.

These days, I have a hard time justifying a topper and I rarely use one. I'll dabble with them, but the bottles spend some lonely weeks on the shelf between uses. To be honest, I've struggled to find one that impresses me and offers any improvement over the coating itself. Elixr and Gyeon Ceramic detailer fall into this catagory.

If I'm doing a wash and end up with some waterspots, Ech2O is my go-to as a "topper", but it's also my standard QD spray. It doesn't seem to degrade the coating's properties, looks good, and at a 20:1 ratio is really easy to apply/use.

Reset was my go-to....lately been using Gyeon Foam and really liking it. My wifes Yukon has Jescar Ultra Lock Plus, my Tundra MOHS EVO. Both get topped every other wash with Gyeon Ceramic Detailer. Did a little test with the TWHS Pure Shine Misting Detailer on my daughters Hyundai....and it has held up very well all by itself.
