The damn vacuum hose blows off every second. I pain $300+ for this?!?! I can't even use it!! The actual drying feature works well, but come on!! Is there a way to fix this?

Mark! I told you! You have to hold the nozzle so that your thumb has a grip on the clamp. The nozzle will NOT come lose from the clamp. But you have to hold onto that clamp with one finger after tightening it up all the way. Is everything ok?

After completely tightening the part shown in the following photo be sure to hold the nozzle so you are holding both that clamp and the part below it at the same time. This will stop them from seperating.

I'm glad you made this thread so other people will have the heads up on holding onto that clamp. :props:

Thanks Tim!

C, I'm talking about the clamp that holds the vacuum hose to the actual unit!

What??? Seriously? Did you tighten the thumb screw clamp? Maybe yours didn't come with the clamp? I have never had that happen!

This part?

A simple twist lock or barbed connection on the nozzle and hose would eleviate this problem. Just like a leaf blower has. They have too much power for a smooth connection. A newer design should be looked at. If it were mine and seeing how it has only one use I would glue it. Two posts in one day concerning the same issue indicates a problem.

you need to tighten the metal clamp when it first arrives. I used a set of robo-grips and carefully tightened mine, to date both sides have been worry free. I love my MB ...

I'll try to tighten it with a lot more force. I tightened it pretty good, but probably not good enough.

I really tightened the clamp with some pliers and that seemed to solve the problem. I was afraid of over tightening it initially. Haven't had the nozzle problem yet. Knock on wood!

Get a real worm clamp on there and use a socket to get that bad boy stuck on there!

Design flaw or assembler malfunction?
Glad you got it sorted.

Funny I never used a pair of pliers on that clamp Marc and I use the metro a few times a week only thing i can suggest is first loosen the clamp up and make sure the hose is slide all the way up as far as it will go against the housing then slide the clamp about half way between the housing and the end of the outlet tighten the clamp their also make sure the outlet and the inside of the hose doesn't any water on it or anything else that could make the surface slippy

Same here Adam, I never used pliers. I thought it was cool I could just use my fingers with the thumbscrew. In fact I didn't even tighten it as much as I could have. Good point about pressing the hose all the way over the male end that sticks out of the machine before tightening.

I used to remove the hose when not in use so I had it on and off many times. Never an issue. Now I just leave it on.

I didn't move the clamp from how it was from the factory, but then decided it's probably better to move it closer to the edge to get a better grip. I then tightened with pliers and all is good! :D

Instead of a metal clamp that could possibly scratch the finish when accidentally dropped, and you will drop it, wouldn't it make sense to permanently attach the two with some superglue or similar adhesive? :dunno:

I have used some pliers plus it also depends how far you push the hose on the exhaust port.
