Hello AG forumers, I've a question regarding my order if it's adequate for a detailer. Here's my order list.
128oz M105 & M205, 64oz M21, 2 bottles M#7, D155 combo pack(replacing my quick detailer), Mike's show car guide book, GG's 6" polisher starter kit. I'm planning to add on some more, if so, any recommendation?
Another question, is there anymore essential add on accessory for the DA? Any special discount or anything for such big sum order? Ps, do suggest some other product if it's a better value (affordability & quality) than my majority meguiars list. I'm really worry of my first order as I'm in Southeast Asia, a mistake would be a long delay + expensive shipping.

Your going to definitely want a 5" BP for the GG6" and tons of pads to go with it if you are planning on using all that polish. I would go with the 5.5" flat pads and I'm guessing at least 4 6 packs, including mainly orange and white pads. I would also probably check out some clay alternatives to help speed up your process like the stuff from Nanoskin or Speedy prep etc..

I agree with the 5" plate, and extra pads.

Your off to a good start. Remember to watch for sales and when you place a large enough order get the free sample. Also get on the VIP mailing list.

OK thank you all for the advise. I'll go for the CCS combo 6 pack (2 orange, 2 white, 2 blue) or (3orange,2white,1blue).

I would work on mastering one pad type at a time. Mf pads are the new thing but nothing wrong with foam. Orange with 105 is a fairly aggressive combo. 205 scales nicely with pad type as well. I think what you have will be a good starting point. If you're really going to be using the da a lot, fully recommend the pad washer. Good luck.

I'd get the three orange, two white, and one blue. The blue would also be good for cleaner waxes as well. I really like the CCS line.

I would actually go with ultimate compound instead of M105 i have both. But UC is.easier to use on a DA. ;)

I suggest you pass on #7. I made the mistake and bought it. Its a PINTA to remove and with M205, #7 is not need unless you are working SS paint.

:iagree:X 1000

Pads, pads and PADS. Being as you are going to have to ship to SE Asia I'd get at least a dozen orange, white, and blue (if not more) as well as a dozen black and half a dozen yellow and red to start with.

I'd also get some glass polish and glass pads.

The Nanoskin pad for your DA will save you hours of clay work. Each pad is good for 10~12 vehicles yet only cost twice what a block of clay would cost.

Surely you could get microfiber at a decent price being you're much closer to the source. Look at 360 GSM and 530 GSM as your workhorse towels. I know here I can get a 180 count case of 360's from an importer for a fraction of the cost of working with a 'detailing' site. Those towels will bring as much as $5.95 each, 3/$15.95 yet you can find them for under $1.50 (shipped) HERE. I'd think if you would commit to a couple of case where you are, you could get them much cheaper. (Those of course are Chinese towels, and great for production work.) The Korean towels are a bit more, and worth having around for the jobs that make it worth the effort.

THIS!

I'd say get UC and UP, they are both excellent, and you don't always need the extreme cut of 105.

Also, I'd highly recommend Megs 101 over 105.
Yes, 105 has been around a long time, and cuts like crazy, but it can be your worst nightmare getting it off without inducing more RIDS or marring.

I see you plan on working it with a rotary as well, and that'll help, but when it starts to dry, it's already too late. It is critical to keep working with 105 as a "wet film".

One thing that'll help it is to mix it with Ultimate Compound. OR... get a small bottle of Baby Oil/Mineral Oil. When you prime your pad, then go back with the 3 pea sized drops you can put just a tiny drop of Baby Oil on those three drops and it'll make 105 work much longer.

Another absolutely excellent compound from Meguiar's is D300. It originally came out with their DAMF microfiber cutting discs, (along with D301 polish). It (of course) works great with their DAMF pads, but it also works great with foam pads. :dblthumb2:

Every good detailer needs more than one type of compound and polish. I'd seriously recommend Menzerna FG400 for a cutting compound, PLUS it'll finish down simply amazing (much better than any other heavy cut compound) with a cut of 9 and gloss of 7. Then at least look at FF3000 with cut of 4, gloss of 9. These two should get you through most anything out there.

And of course if you really want to ramp up the gloss, use a light cut pad, and move to SF4000 (cut 4, gloss 10) or SF4500 (cut 2, gloss 10). I prefer SF4000 because it is more versatile, and on all but the most finicky paints you'll never see the difference between the two.

Yup that. for a simple 2 stage job and for better time.management i would pick uc +up and its tried and testing as well.

But im kinda leaning on having Menzerna as well but it is abit expensive.though.
