Malibu Resurrection

Assuming a person is already fairly experienced with a rotary on practice panels, uncared for black or very dark cars are a great test subject. I just did a basic full detail in a dark red Accord that was very neglected and had some bad water spot etchings and a couple deeper scratches that could be improved. I took the opportunity to try out Menzerna Fast Gloss (FG400) with a couple different pads, then experimented with meguiars PRC to see what pads would cause holograms.

Dealer cars are also great test subjects. "Just give me a buff. Make it shiny" they say. "You got it" I say. It's a great way to see what can be accomplished, and how fast and still get top notch results. I like taking, for example, Meguiars D300 and see how much cut I get with different amounts of pressure, number of passes, downward pressure, etc.
 
How did you get inside the door handles

I didn't, this car took A LOT of time and I neglected some of the smaller details to focus on the overall. Like the updated picture shows though the owner couldn't care less and it's just a hobby for me BUT in the past I've just used a applicator pad with some polish on it by hand.
