I have a large detail of an RV so the marine 31 coating 8oz is my plan to protect the large RV.please chime in with user experience. I am concerned that it is like blackfires first attempt at ceramics called crystal coat which provided hardcore protection but was nearly impossible to use because they got the carrier solvents wrong where some of them evaporated out of bottle because of sub par seal which led to a condensed coating that was not for the faint of heart to attempt. I tried to order yesterday from autopia but the website wouldn’t let me add it to the cart so maybe that is a sign or some kind of foreshadowing. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. If I do get it I plan to do roof with DA application of coating on low speed.

I have been doing research anyone with knowledge please share... so I have read that coatings for gel coat are different from automotive paint has to do with gel coats ability to absorb material. I have not seen the RV in person just photos 3 month old tow behind fifth wheel so I’m assuming it’s all fiberglass with gel coat

Just to chime in,

I found your post to my write-up here and answered some of your questions in it.

Here's what I posted in the above thread.

The tricky part about making a coating for gel-coat is to overcome,

  1. The porosity

  2. The harsh marine environment

What works on paint might not and probably won't work on gel-coat AND work on gel-coat in the marine environment.

What works on gel-coat WILL probably work on paint and hold up to any environment.

I say go for it.
