Hi guys,

I think I've applied too much CarPro Hydro2 and/or left it on too long on my 2 week old Mercedes C200 and now have streaks on my sunroof and most of my windows!!

I rinsed it with the pressure washer for ages but couldn't clear it.

Any tips?

Also, I couldn't see any streaks or issues on my wheels or panels so I'm guessing Hydro2 doesn't have the same effect on these as it does on the window if you apply too much and/or leave it on for too long? My car is white if that makes any difference...

Any help would be appreciated!!

Cheers

So apparently you're supposed to mix 4 or 5:1, not 3:1 (which is what the bottle said). Also I think my main issue was that I did it in the sun (although it wasn't too hot) whereas it's supposed to be done in the shade. Looking through old posts, it looks like a lot of people make the same mistake I made!!

Will try get some photos tonight.

I now know the correct way to apply it next time round, but for now I really need some help getting rid of these streaks :(

Use some 0000 steel wool and a high quality glass cleaner in a shaded cool area. I have experienced this with Hydro2 but not as bad. Sometimes just some little dots.

Seems like you know what to do next time. I would dilute it up to 6 or 7:1 and spray on and immediately hose off. No waiting at all.

See pics below. I haven't really tried anything because I didn't know where to start and didn't want to make it worse.

Wouldn't steel wool scratch the window?

So if the windows look like that... Does it mean his paint looks like crap but since the vehicle's white he can't notice it?

Try CarPro CeriGlass. Apply by machine with CarPro rayon pads.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can get that locally, and I also don't have a machine.

I need something I can do by hand and a product I can easily source locally.

Any ideas? I just want to get rid of these streaks and then I'll re apply Hydro2 (properly this time!!)

Thanks again!

Check out this thread, Cory from Carpro gives a solution and explains that 1:3 is full strength you can use it less diluted as you mentioned, or even 1:10 for a QD.

If you apply in sunlight it seems that streaking will occur. I can't remember which tread, maybe not even on autogeek, it mentioned a member giving his experience with streaks. He found the issue to be due to leaving hydro2 on the paint/glass for more than a minute. I believe the verdict was 30 seconds at most.

**** I am trying to summarize a post I can't find from memory, some of the details may be off a bit****

Hope that helps, Google Hydro2 streaking or issues, maybe you can find it.

Any polish will take it off, ultimate polish for example.

Leave it alone. It'll go away in a couple of weeks.

If you mess with it, you may do more damage.
