Master Glaze - An AIO from the old days...

I have a car polish in my collection that is a powder, you mix it with water when you're ready to use it. Note the use of the "All-In-One" or AIO term?

This is probably from the 1920's

A powder? That kind of reminds me of a few years ago when Joe (Superior Shine) used a mix of corn starch and water with an old-school single speed rotary with a wool pad to buff out a single stage lacquer hood he had sitting around.

In fact, here's a link to the thread from MOL: old school rub out? - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online

Worked great, but the idea seemed insane by modern standards!

:buffing:

hey mike have u ever used some of your older waxes/polishes. from ur collection? are they no good anymore do to chemicals deteriating over time? just wondering..by the way i love ur wax collection u posted before..

Back in the 50s there was a wax called Hutcheson Water Proof Wax. It was also a powder. It was advertised on TV a lot.

Why is this thread a sticky??? Is it more important then any of the other threads? All of the sticky threads in all of the forums is really getting out of hand...

I'm not sure why... but thank you for helping out and I'll unstick it.

Thank you dubbin!

Well that's one down. I know we have spoken about this before but do you realize there are 229 sticky threads in the forums... Adding threads like this to a sticky makes zero sense.

Thanks for bringing this up though...

Reminds me to consider donating my collection of antique car waxes and polishes to a museum...

Like the ones in this thread...

Some Vintage Meguiar's Products from my Collection (Lots of pictures)

I'm pretty good about taking pictures and sharing them on the forums but for the long term I'm thinking an auto museum would be a safer place to share them...
