Mike,

After reading through article after article about vinyl care on here and MOL there is really no defined answer as how to care for matte black vinyl. I worked on a 99 Viper this past weekend that had Le'Mans style stripes down the center of the car that were of course, matte black. I taped the edges off and went to town with the Flex. Upon finishif the correction it looks like there were a couple of small sections where the foam pads had touched the vinyl and made it appear more glossy than the rest of the stripes. Also there were a couple of wax stains (white) from the Nattys paste that had overlapped the tape a small amount. What's the best way to clean the stripes and return them to the matte finish. Also, IPA and APC had no effect on either problem. Maybe a toothbrush and some IPA? What about running over them with a selant and a red/black pad on a low speed with the PC?

Thanks for any help!

Nothing that I know of will fix matte vinyl after its been polished. It's the fact that the surface itself has been burnished and made smooth. There is no real way, I know of, to reverse that unless you take some high grit(3000/4000) to it, but even then I dont recommend that.
