Well, I just spent an hour drooling over DFB’s garage post and decided to show the one I’ve built recently for myself. We moved into a rural area 5 years ago and I’ve wanted a metal building “shop” for quite some time. When I started growing my Ford truck obsession, my wife finally caved lol! I needed up with a pole barn style like several in my neighborhood. I went 40x60 with 14’ tall walls for future plans of a 2-post lift. I went with 6” concrete, 12’x12’ overhead doors and a two color scheme we both agreed on. Over all I’ve been extremely happy with it and can’t wait to keep customizing it to my needs. Here are some pics along the way…..

Poured the drive way and ended up using way more concrete then I thought. Almost 20 yards total but plenty of room to pull in and move around or move trailers.

After about a month of waiting, I finally got my power turned on and plenty of light and outlets. Installed sod around the drive and shop to help with soil erosion. After waiting a month for my slab to cure, I installed a concrete sealer and love how it turned out!

This was right after sealing it and once it dried.

As a general contractor, I come across old materials all the time. These were headed to the dumpster but I figured I would use them until I bought some newer metal stuff. However, I have a friend who does tint and wraps, they are going to wrap these in carbon fiber. If they work well, I’ll keep them but they are great for now!!

Slowly but surely making this my own….way more to do soon. I enclosed 30x14 of the 60x14 lean to for a man cave. I’ll be building this out soon with ac. I will also be getting a fridge, deep freeze, tv, and most importantly, plumbing and a bathroom. Next year I plan on building a lean to off the back with a slab for washing. I’ll install a water filter system and all. I absolutely can’t wait! Now to keep building my Arsenal and keep cleaning our vehicles!

Bought a new tiny electric pressure washer (1700psi) on sale and tried it out on the bronco. Took it to the 2022 HotRod Powertour and had a blast.

So after I corrected and coated the wife’s new Tesla 3, I decided to clean and coat the expedition. We planned on the Tesla being the new daily but it’s brand new and she wants to keep it as a “fun car” for now so
I agreed BUT wanted to get this bus corrected and ceramic applied before going back outside full time. Got it washed, clayed and corrected today. Also polished and coated the headlights. Tomorrow I’m pulling the wheels off and coating them one at a time and doing the interior. Ordered some 3D panel wipe that I’m waiting on before coating. Once that’s done and I get a new windshield installed, it’s back in rotation and I’m working on my 94 F150. FYI, the expedition has 160,000 miles and looks amazing! Paint was way nicer to work on than the Tesla

Nice space. Just need you to build an apartment over it so I can move in.

Brilliant thread, certainly interested to see this evolve.

You have built what I ultimately want to do one day, with a living quarter included upstairs.

WOW! Enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing. Love the Bronco!
