Maximize Your Product's Full Potential

I was just doing a search for this very article by CM8. I was doing the search for you to read this not so much to get you to switch from using xmt360 to M205, rather, to share with you the importance of sticking with a product to get familiar with it. I mean...you might as well because you've already paid for the product. Use it up. Doesn't mean you can't experiment on your car with M205 which is a stellar product. I was just trying to stick with the all-in-one theme for you.

Glad you found this article.

If I was restricted to just onle polish it would be M205. Also getting to know the characteristics of your products with different variables is essential to get the most from them.

Just went back and re-read CM8 6MT's review. This is one of the best reviews on the forum well written and illustrated. Takes considerable time to do this and share it with everbody. Thank you again!

I'm looking forward to seeing your WGDGPS3.0 vs M21 durability testing result as well

I was planning on that, but I had to correct down my hood again due to some "unexpected" issues. Many friends that know me are aware of my busy schedule, with little to no time to detail. I apologize for falling behind on some product reviews I promised to make.

Thanks to BrutalNoodle, jvs1991, psynx, wrxinx, hoytman & rmagnus for the kind words. Comments like that make me want to develop more product reviews & articles like this one.

I'm not sure how I missed this either, amazing post and detailed analysis! Great job!

LoL thanks dude, do you use Tapatalk exclusively? For some reason it wont load "everything". I find myself sometimes missing Marc's reviews, and have to go hunting for them.

CM8 6MT, Wow that was a great write-up, I think I am sold on the M105,M205 & M21 combo. I am just starting out and it was recommended to me about Meg's UC, I have used that on my own car with pretty good results followed up with Carnauba. It looks great, but not the pop I am looking for.
I have not been doing this long, most as a hobbist, I read about all the professional products and would love to try them all. I have benn trying to search to see the time trusted and true "go to" products of all the pro's as those are the ones for me.
Write-ups like this really, no I mean REALLY help out those just strting out and wanting to learn more about how to make your jobs look great.
Being a hobbist, you don't have much money to spend on a lot of products, since your not getting paid to clean and polish vechiles, your write-up aid in deciding the biggest bang for the buck.
All and I say is thank you for the write-up's keep them coming, thanks for taking the time.... I am always :hungry: for knowledge...

Bill Im glad you enjoyed this write up. I would not recommend the 105/205 combo. If your going to use UC, you need to follow it up with M205, and it will give you that pop your looking for. If you need a compound like 105 for heavy correction, look into Menzerna FG400 or Meguiars 101, or D300 with their MF pad.

UC paired with the right pad, speed, pressure & some skill will yield results that would otherwise take 105 to remove. However certain defects just require a heavier cut & trust me 105 delivers, but there are better alternatives available now. Being a hobbyist is total fine, im one myself but sometimes I find myself doing a few details on the side. What I recommend you do (and I use this myself) is to hand pick your products. Pick the best products that each brand has to offer, and stick with them. For example my core polishes are Meguiars, my core cleaning products are Mothers, my washing products are from Optimum. Try to include different quality brands in your arsenal, the best detailers in the world use many different brands. You dont need to spend a fortune for your car to look amazing, you just have to select the right products & know how to use them well :)

:props: Thanks for the sound advise. I am trying to do just as you say it. I am looking to pick up some extra money on the side. I need to work with the products, like you said to see how they work and how best to use them. Been spending a lot of time reading and researching. As you say based upon the reviews and what I have seen tme Megs combo 105/205 are the base of a lot of professionals. Put a thread out there for a good APC and most also recommend the Meg APS+. I have just gotten all my "goodies" around and hope to start "practicing" soon.
I have done my car, just with UC and Carnuaba, couple people have noticed, can't wait to hit it withe 105/205 combo, plus just picked up WGDGP3.0, saw great reviews on that and reading up on how to apply.
So glad most of the guys here are so very helpful, its like everyone working together as a team to make cars look better. With all the issues and being run down for the JOB, it is nice to come home and get some satisfaction that your doing something that makes you feel good and look good.
Thanks again for the help.
