Finally took pics from a FuelFed event, the first 2 I just didn't get around to it but today was THEE day

Hey Scott, I finally met your best friend Hank, very personable guy and guess what, I loaned him a 500 GSM Eagle edgeless microfiber towel and my FrankenDetailer so he could get some bugs off that STUNNING 993 Turbo

This 930 is one of my favorite Porsches I see at the shows, never gets old...PERFECTION🤌

This "off-road" 911 was SOOOO cool, love Porsche owners, NO LIMITS

This purple 911 made it out to its first C&C of the year and trust me when I say this...THE PAINT, my GOD did someone wet sand and polish it to perfection

More to come, stay "tuned"....

Another great show, thanks for posting!

OH, cool!!! Glad you got to meet him!!!
I mentioned your name and he said "OH yeah, that's my best friend!"

He told me about the club you started, I wish I was in something like that, I really love 911's and how owners DRIVE THEM

I have this strange attraction to those old Alfa coupes. Love that car.

I like the McLaren too, but white does not do that car any favors. There is a black 570 I see in my area occasionally and grabs my attention every time. Should I ever magically come into a gazillion dollars, there would be a McLaren in the garage.

A very nice selection, love the Marcos, I had a die cast one as a child, that shape is burned into my memory.
Never heard of that, I was wondering if it was a kit car or something. I mean the Marcos, not your die cast. Oh, looking it up on Wikipedia, I guess it was for a while. Sounds a bit like Avanti, where it went out of business and was resurrected a few times.

That pictured one was apparently produced from 1964-1971, when Marcos went out of business the first time, apparently partly due to costs involved in trying to get that car approved for the US market. It doesn't say how many were imported here, but it doesn't sound like a lot. The Wiki articles are the usual jumble, but it seems they made 60 cars for the US market, but 27 of them were impounded by US Customs for not meeting US requirements, so maybe only 33 were sold here? That's a pretty rare car, probably explains why I never heard of it, and thanks again to Klasse for bringing us pictures of rare cars from these shows.

In my teens I found this little book at a second hand book store, The Observers Book of Automobiles from 1967, and it was then that I realised the Marcos was a real car, not just a random toy, I lost the toy Marcos, but I still have the book. Interesting fact, the early ones had a wooden chassis, and yes, they are low, 3 foot 9 and a half inches.

Wooden chasis? Just like a Morgan! It is a beautiful car with lines similar to a Jag E-Type.

Thanks for the pics. There's another Fuel Fed in Wilmette this Sunday.
Winnetka but yes, I'll be there and I'll have pics for you guys

Interesting cars over the years

I found a lively discussion online around the wood vs steel chassis debate. How on some old cars the wood chassis was still good, but the later steel chassis have been replaced several times on newer cars, and how wood chassis gave better steering feel.
