Maybe trading isn't a good idea

Something to remember, if your going trade and they have very low post. I would wait for their item first.

I traded with a few members, and had great experience. But if its someone I don't know I wait until I get it before I send my stuff out.

Hope everything works out for you buddy.

I have had a few great trading experiences, but it seems to reason that eventually you will get burned. I wouldn't stop trading, just check out feedback and post count / activity first.

What's right is right. At a minimum it's flat rude to keep you waiting this long with no word. Sounds more like a scam.
Years ago a member that detailed for a living told us that he was robbed of most of his detailing supplies. Everybody on here stepped up to support him and his family. We were all scammed, including AG that sent him stuff.

thats sad. taking advantage of nice people.
costly too. I see on some detail supplier sites just a basic package can run over a grand. I once wanted to train someone to help me,
since hardly no one does what I do I am backed up for weeks and wanted to train another person, until I read about people that take all your stuff and disappear. I didn't want to invest in another 1000.00 setup and train someone to worry about them taking off, or even getting trained for free and then starting up up on thier own.
for what I do training cost a lot.

dishonest people like this deserve to be exposed, and banned as well. not cool at all...

Wow that sucks. If they dont have one they need to get one and thats a blacklist.

this is off topic, but i think the safest way to trade is face to face. meet up and do the business. but i know this is pointless since we all live in different areas.

:iagree:

Anyone who is a regular poster isn't going to smear their reputation on a bad trade.

Give out free samples, that's where the fun's at. I have received a couple of cool products from some guys on here, and I have also sent some stuff to several guys on here. That way all the satisfaction is on your end - you got to make someone else's day and didn't get burned.

Actually - if you look at the SAMPLES (original post updated) thread - that's how it started. The trade thing was just what it changed into pretty much.

Contact him, and let him know he owes you...I had a member on this forum that contacted me on detailingworld for a trade (and I've done previous trades with him before), anyway long story short I shipped products to him, but he never shipped me anything...6 months later when his business wasn't doing well, he was apoligizing, and asking for forgiveness...what goes around comes around...Let him know that...

As a caveat beware of regular posters who never post again... If you've been on detailing forums since 2005 you may remember dftowel...

A regular poster till his last post 2006 but went on scamming people till 2009...His website is still up... But I don't know if things have changed for the better...I doubt it

The guy really know fabrics can't believe he just went dark...

I've spoken to John B about this issue and he informed me that the same gentlemen who scammed me has scammed him before as well. He eventually got the trade out of him, but he said it took a lot to achieve that.

You obviously have his name and address. I would "kindly" let him know that it will only take one phone call to his local authorities to have some red and blues at his house.

Or, if you're spiteful like me, you could call his local gravel company as him, and ask that they dump a couple tons of gravel in front of "your" garage. You might get lucky enough that they'll bill "you" upon delivery.

This is true, but I would rather not let a 30 dollar item get to that point.

I agree, completely. It sounds like you've handled it well, and by giving him a deadline, he knows the repercussions if he doesn't man-up and send you what he agreed to. Personally, I'd have a hard time letting it go if he continued to ignore me. He shouldn't get the feeling that what he's doing is okay, or that it's going to work every time. One way or another, he needs to pay the piper.

well also people do get sick and/or busy.
and once they get what they want, you move to the bottom of the todo list.

I do agree with this statement, but it has been over a month and the guy has been contacted....I would be Pissed Off too!!! :bash:

Way to go for stepping up to help someone in need...MAY HE BUN IN HELL FOR SCAMMING!!!

I have always done good by everyone, especially when it comes to trading. I always ship my items promptly, and expect the other person to the same. Trading on this forum has been real smooth for me except for this one gentlemen. I have traded with countless people and never had an issue, so this leads me to believe this guy does this on purpose and isn't really sick!!!!
