Hello to all. After Spiros'es suggestion on posting a work of mine, here is a recent detailing I had done on a friends Miata NB.

This is my first work here so please be kind :)

Car had never been properly polished so this car's soft clear coat was not at its best. We first started with washing the car and then with claying.

Car's paint looked like that upon inspection. Many swirls, RDS and some deeper scratches all around the car.

So we got the car into the garage so the surfaces could cool down as the sun was shinning strong. Then started correcting with a DA polisher, a Lake Country Orange Cutting Pad and Menzerna PO203S.

Here are a couple of 50/50 shots I got of the rear trunk

For some spots where deeper swirls could not be removed easily by polisher, I used the help of some wet sanding

Which turned out really well after polishing

We also removed hard top and cleaned the soft top with some APC solution and then treated the Vinyl surface.

That looks really good!! What grit sandpaper did you hit those panels with?

Thank you. it was 2.500grit which was softened in water for 30 minutes

Car looks fantastic - Approx. how many hours did you have into this?

Great job turning that Miata around. Havent seen too many in that color.

Impressive, very impressive! I wish that my results would turn out as well. Thanks for sharing.

What are some of the products you used? Like what compound and wax were applied?

Thank you guys for your comments.

TimmyG we started about 11AM and finished around 7PM

As mentioned we also washed the car, thoroughly cleaned and detared the wheels, and I also cleaned the engine.

OhTwoGT as it was a one step polish, I used only one compound, Menzerna's PO203S (Intensive Power Finish I think). It gives a nice cut grade with a fantastic finishing, LSP ready IMO.

The wax is a 55% By volume carnauba wax from a British Brand named RaceGlaze. It is a high concentration Carnauba wax which gives me 5-6 months of duration.

I hope my English make sense to you.

Amazing results!

I've got an '05 Mazdaspeed Miata and would love to have results like this when done polishing it up.

It's doable Bernie, you just have to be thorough and take your time during doing each step

Nicely done especially if this is your first detail. Looks like you've been doing it for a while. Great 50/50 shots and the Miata's finish looks perfect.
