Mechanics - please help!

I see no one mentioned that he put one extra quart of oil. That should come back out as it might be a cause for dirty plugs.

Sorry guys for leaving you all hanging - I have been SLAMMED! The little time I get home I usually spend with the family :/ I worked on this issue 3 weekends in a row and have not touched it since. My next plan is to replace the rotor, and at least four plugs and hop that is the issue. I have had 3 mechanics come out and have utilized the information provided by my AG brothers to narrow it down to that - I HOPE lol. I will most likely get elbow deep in this again next weekend. Owning a detailing company is proving to be time consuming lol. Thanks again ALL and I will keep you posted.

I only skimmed over this, but I see you are going to replace the rotor--if you have an old HEI ignition, rotor burn-through was a tough to diagnose problem. The spark would jump to ground THROUGH the plastic of the rotor (to the metal parts underneath). This would leave carbon tracking on the bottom inside of the rotor, which you couldn't see really if the rotor was black. After my first/only experience with this (which resulted in things like removing the distributor to have the spark control module checked, to no avail), I began to replace HEI rotors on a regular basis, even if the contacts didn't look that bad.

It may be the mechanics who have looked at this are just too young to have encountered this problem as GM was the first to jump on the distributorless bandwagon and started on the 3000 Buick V6 in 1985 IIRC, with the 3800 following the next year. I think all the V6/V8 GM engines were off the HEI not too long after that.
