I know that many here follow the Meguiars cutting disc by foam because they feel that sometimes the finishing microfiber discs don't finish well enough. I intend to buy the Meg cutting discs and was wondering what foam pads you all use?

I am planning to buy the tangerine hydro-tech pads. Would this finish well after the microfiber cutting discs?

Tangerine is a great choice for most cars. If it is super soft clear the Crimson HT pads work very well too.

Alright, let me tell you what products I plan to use and on what vehicles. I have a dark blue Grand Caravan with paint on the hard side and I have a silver Lexus GS400 with paint on the soft side.
On the van I plan to use Duragloss 501 with the tangerine hydro-tech and follow it the next day with Collinite 845 using a black flat pad.
On the Lexus I plan to use D300 with the Meg microfiber cutting discs. I was planning to follow that with Duragloss 501 using the tangerine hydro-tech pad but was told that this probably wouldn't work. Therefore, I will use Griot's Polish #3 with the tangerine hydro-tech pad and then use Duragloss 501 with the tangerine hydro-tech pad. The next day I will use Collinite 845 with the black flat pad. Does this sound like a reasonable attack plan?

After using the D300 and Megs CD you should evaluate the paint, on some paints D300 will finish nicley and others you might need to polish out haze. If you are left with a haze I would go with Megs 205 which uses SMAT (Super Micro Abrasive Technology), non-diminishing abrasives, work it until you achieve your desired results.

DG 501 is a more of a chemical cleaner and contains nano diminishing abrasives.

Sounds like a good plan, let us know how you make out.

I don't know if this will be very helpful, but here are a few pic of a Chevy S10 I did with D300/MF cutting pad and Menz PO85RD on a tangerine hydro-tech. I've never used the Duragloss products, so I can't speeak to the difference between that and the 85RD. However, using the 85RD, I couldn't tell a difference between the tangerine hydro-tech and a LC flat white pad, so my recommendation would be to do a test spot with the tangerine and if you aren't getting the results you are looking for, it might be the product and not the pad.

From what I understand, the tangerine hydro-tech cuts better than the white but finishes like the black pad. I do have Menz 85rd but haven't used it much because I was told that it doesn't make sense to follow it with Duragloss 501, which has both strong cleaners and nano-abrasives. I wonder if its cut us similar to the 85rd?
