the entire building and the concrete was brand spanking new. The spaces have not even been parked in prior ... other than those right up on the building. Add in the Florida sun and you'll see bleaching. Look at the corners and you'll see rust from sprinklers which is also common.

It is ashame those that may not want to spend this kind of money , will challenge the product without ever seeing it, using it, and thus giving a true and reasonable offering.

Ed you are welcome for the soap, good stuff IMO...Incredible job on Meghan's 300. Man oh man that flake is poping loud...Next time I'm down your way, I got to get you to do my truck....You can teach me to get my paint poping like that.....Awesome job my friend....
 
For those wondering about cement, generally cement is white especially Portland variations which are most common. If your thinking of blackish rough looking paving, its asphalt.

ED: I'm not trying to start trouble simply voicing my observations.... Like I said, I have no doubt that your work is outstanding and that Meghan’s ride looked great - but the washed out cement makes me doubt that the pictures are an accurate representation of the true appearance.

If it were a case of new cement it would be isolated to just the cement but the exterior of the warehouse also has the same washed out look

I have looked at MANY pictures from Florida detailers on white cement in the bright sun and do not see this washed out cement phenomena.

Killer: I have no problem spending good money on waxes as can be seen by my below purchases that were more per oz than the WG

Again, just to be 100% clear as some have mistaken my post as a shot on Ed - I HAVE NO DOUBT that Ed's work is outstanding and that the 300 looked phenomenal.
 
Ya its not nice to blatantly try to point wrong at someone. It does look "doctored" to some because its soo bright that the paint begins to shine more but Im sure it wasnt doctored.

- i see no hdr
- some cameras just overexpose whats around the subject (ive owned some of them).
- or the camera was in the + EV exposures.

But then again, you got the close up pictures, thats an awesome 300!:buffing:
 
Still, pictures (or videos) don't mean much. Especially these close ups. Seeing a car in person is the only real way to judge how it looks.

I agree with the statement on pictures not meaning much, you can get an angle that shows zero swirl marks on a swirled up car, however video says a lot, if taken correctly, for instance when I take video, I make sure to grab the sun on every section of each panel and walk it around the car, no hiding swirl marks when done like so.

Since you were at DFIII how did the car look in person?
 
Brian - You're right about a good video being able to sometimes show swirls, but it won't really show defects (scratches/smears/dirt). The ones I've seen posted seem kinda dark and not too natural looking. Still, a video isn't really anything like seeing a car in person.

I would have to agree Dennis.

We all know Ed does great work and I know he would not doc up the pics. Why would he, he has nothing to gain by it. It was very nice of him to do Meghan's car and take some pictures. Keep up the great work Ed.

As far as high end waxes go I personally don't think they're worth the money. That's just my opinion and if it makes someone feel better to spend a lot of money on a wax I would tell them to go for it. Even through I feel this way I still buy some high end waxes from time to time hoping to prove myself wrong but haven't yet. Spend your time to prep and the car well and you can put one about any wax on and it's going to look great. The difference in looks between some of the good waxes on the market for $30 and ones costing $200 plus will be very insignificant if any.

I agree with you 100%, I have various waxes and always seem to keep going back to Collinite 915 or IW 845.

You're right, none of my video's ever made that cars look as good as they do in person.

Well, we are in your area at least monthly, trouble is most of the people we work for live in tightly secure communities.
 
when i see good work like this make me think why i havent heard about this forum early and why i bought a white car 3 month ago

I just had a few mins to read on the forum and UNFORTUNATELY this is the first post I read, I would LOVE to clear up a few things... ONE I was there (aka here, since I am at work right now LOL) when Ed detailed my 300, TWO I know what our cement looks like! and THREE those pictures are no where NEAR altered. I have a copy of all of them on my computer, and if you look on our DF link you will see all of them on there too. Those are my copies and Ed has the same copies since he was nice enough to let me copy his memory card so I could share all of his DF photos with everyone.
I find it upsetting that when someone does a great job on here 90% of the people will appreciate them sharing and taking the time, and then we have the 10% that have to try to tear them down. It is an educational forum, we are here to share, and like Momma always said, if you don't have something nice to say, well maybe you shouldn't say anything.

On a lighter note, Ed did a great job, and the Fuzion is holding up every nice. It has rained most of the weekend and I love watching it bead up. Its a sickness but we all have it!:righton:
Another side note we have been moving the warehouse all weekend.... so those of you there were at DF and got to walk all in the warehouse... well you should see it now! There is wax everywhere!!!!Im the MAN
 
How many days have you worked in the past month? Are you being punished for something you did in a past life?

My post was an observation based on many pictures of vehicles on white cement under the "Florida" sun that were not subject to the washed out look....If I am wrong well then that's the luck of the draw it happens to us all..

I do not feel my post was in any way attacking or undermining Ed's work. I take this craft very seriously and as such I do not view these boards as "touchy feely social" sites - I DO view these sites as a place for people who practice this trade/hobby to come and share best methods. I would hope that if ANY of you EVER saw something that made you wonder you would not simply brush it aside BUT instead speak your mind... If we all resort to simply posting "great work" or "nice shine" when we are thinking something else what is really to be gained???

With that said I feel my post was done in good taste and with tact and not disrespectful in ANY way and do not understand why some have gotten so heated..
