Megs 16/ Soveran Paste

Based on personal experience:

16 goes on and comes off harder (but I have been accused of using too much), but lasts longer.

Souveran goes on and comes off wet and easy, but does not last as long. Probably looks a little wetter when it first goes on than 16.

Other's will have different opinions.

16 = even when applied thin is a pain to get off...but lasts a long time....

Souveran = like wiping butter on and off a car...

Souveran > 16 in appearance... 16 > Souveran...as far as durability

:iagree: :iagree: Well said. Use #16 for maximum durability, such as winter wax; you Souveran for maximum depth, and apperance (great summer wax).

A agree with what was said all though I don't find #16 hard to remove/apply at all.

The trick to removing #16 easily is using a MF bonnet on the PC, and a whole lot of praying.

I have a huge stock pile of #16 :D

so I don't think I will be trying Souveran for a while. I sold one can since the pic was taken, so I only have 9 cans now LOL.

Yes, the key is to apply a thin coat. It actually applies really thin with finishing pad on the PC. I like the beading of #21 more, but the look of #21 topped with #16 is just amazing!

Here a tip for those having problems removing #16. Do 2 panels at a time then go back and remove the wax from the first panel applied. If doing a large panel (hood, roof) do that one panel only then do back and remove. Also you don't have to actually see the wax haze on the panel, you should apply it so thin it's hard to see.

when i let wax sit too long, i have added a bit of spray wax to my mf and it helped big time. is that a huge no no? i did not want to mess with the paint, so...

I would have opted to use a QD but there nothing wrong with a spray wax either.

my #16 is coming from the mail, anytime now.
so you don't have to let the wax haze? is it a WOWO type of wax?
i can't wait for mine to come!

You can WOWO from what I've read but normally I just do 2 panels at a time thrn go back and remove. When you put it one super thin it doesn't take long to haze up.

I think that is about the fairest assessment I have ever read, I am completely in agreement. Souveran will win shows, but #16 will protect alot longer.

I have two unopened tins in my garage, am curious to try the #16. A little disappointing to read that they are hard to remove, however...

A quick spritz of qd/water will make it easier if you are having a hard time removing. There a saying when using #16 "If you think you're not using enough, you're using to much"

If you can't aquire #16 a GREAT alternative is Collinite 476.Good shine and fantastic durability:righton:

:D I have 476S in the mail!

I don't quite use the WOWO technique for applying #16. I apply it thin with the PC after doing about 1/2 the car I got back and I wipe off. I have done the whole car and then come back to wipe off and it still hasn't been hard to remove.

Don't go by me. I probably use too much. It was a fabulous product with a great reputation, so don't go by one anonymous geezer on an internet forum.
