Anyone's opinion on these sealants, I have seen both recommended. Also I think I need a polish after the 205, PO85rd is a little pricey for me since my shopping cart is getting to be a lot more than I expected, anything by Megs kinda close to it? These Megs prices are great. Here's what I have in cart so far:

GG ROP
LC 5" backing plate
LC CCS 5.5" pads
3 yellow
4 orange
3 white
2 gray
Megs smooth surface clay
105
205
APC+
PB trim restorer
Wolfgang's Fuzion Estate Mini- "Freebie"

Any thoughts on something I missed or better ideas are very welcomed.
Thanks

205 will finish off nicely. I wouldn't concern yourself with 85rd at the moment.

I like NXT 2.0, even though it's only an OTC product :P

I've never used it, but I've seen many recommendations for Ultrafina polish. I've used 85rd and, in my humble opinion as an enthusiast only, it's well worth the money.

Well, on my black car 205 doesn't finish perfectly, 85rd is necessary for that. I guess it depends on the car and its color.

Did you try to finish down 205 on the black pad? or white pad?

On black I can get it to finish down great using a black pad if the white pad left any hazing or marring.

Based on anecdotal testimonies, I'd go with M21 over NXT.

When you say that you can't get M205 to finish down properly, could you describe for us your technique. What pads did you use? what speed?

I realize that different paint systems finish down differently. If I were in your shoes and I was convinced that I could not get 205 to finish down properly for me, then I would go with the 85rd.

IMO, 205 may finish nicely on some paints, but others (especially softer paints) it will not. I always follow 205 with 85rd/black pad on darker paints as well as soft paints....

I use the Meg's NXT 2.0 for 3 waxes a week apart then once a month wax with a carnuba P21S and wow the shine pops. You can really see way more shine with the P21S but I wanted durability as well. All done by hand.

Dude you're getting WG Fuzion with your order, why would you want anything else?

I have used 2.0 and #21 and for me #21 seemed to last longer and look was very close.

I've used both #21 and NXT 2.0 and don't see very much difference in the results. IMO they are both just ok in durability and a bit lacking in the gloss department (a little plasticy) if I had to use one or the other I'd go with the NXT paste because I like to store the applicator inside the tin.

Poorboy's SSR1 is a diminishing finish polish that works long enough to really break down and will produce a very nice gloss on your black paint after 205 and it will not break the bank in price.

Ive used both and tend to favor the #M21,however since your going to use the Fuzion as a LSP why dont you jus try the sample WDGPS, 3oz is enough to do a regular size car twice

I just thought I might need a polish after the 205 but it sounds like i might not.

Thanks, I might get that just in case the 205 doesn't come out right. I am a newbie and won't have the technique you pros do, but I sure do want to learn.

Now that's a great idea, I forgot about the free samples and I've read so much good about the WGDGPS but it is way out of my budget right now. 3 oz really goes that far? Do you do that with a machine or by hand?

And THANKS everyone for your advice this really helps!!:xyxthumbs:

Grab a bottle of Finish Kare 218 instead. That stuff is super slick and I can't even look at my hood in sunlight because it hurts my eyes, where the other panels done with NXT 2.0 look dull. Love 218, and it's cheap.

How is the durability of the 218?

Just put on the 218, so can't say for sure. I won't rewax again till September or October, so I'll know by then

WG Fuzion is a wax, not a polish. I think you're in a state of information-overload, as i remember i was too. hahaha. On your order you're just missing a sealant. Since your car is black, if price is an issue, i'd go with 4*UPP. If not, then get WGDGPS 3.0. I just recently used it, and it's is GREAT! :)

Best of luck on your choices.

Fuzion is a hybrid (carnauba wax/sealant) ;)
