I own a white 2006 4runner which is a single stage paint. My understanding is that this is a very hard paint, and I believe it. Last summer, I got as aggressive as using 105 with a tangerine HT pad. On my test spot, this gave pretty good results so I polished the entire vehicle. I followed up with 205 then applied DG 111/601 as my LSP. The result certainly wasn't bad, but just seemed to be lacking a bit of gloss. I know that white will never be as impressive as most other colors, but I felt like I had not taken the paint to its full potential.

Thinking perhaps a paint cleaner would help, I did the hood with DG 501 which is reported to be an outstanding cleaner. It didnt seem to have any visible effect - either in appearance of the paint or visible dirt on the pad.

My next step was going to be to step up to 105 with a cyan pad. However, I am now wondering if I might get some benefit from "feeding" the paint with M7? The paint is by no means in bad condition, but I wonder if it could benefit. Has anyone tried the process on newer SS paints or have a feeling as to whether or not there may be any benefit?

You may have went to aggressive on the paint causing it to dull out, and you said when you used paint cleaner there was no paint transfer so that mean that particular year had clear coat therefore using m7 may bring some life back

It might be worth trying the 205 again on a test section, maybe using a different pad and longer sets. Sometimes we focus more on the swirl removal than we do on the follow up polishing/finishing
