I own a white 2006 4runner which is a single stage paint. My understanding is that this is a very hard paint, and I believe it. Last summer, I got as aggressive as using 105 with a tangerine HT pad. On my test spot, this gave pretty good results so I polished the entire vehicle. I followed up with 205 then applied DG 111/601 as my LSP. The result certainly wasn't bad, but just seemed to be lacking a bit of gloss. I know that white will never be as impressive as most other colors, but I felt like I had not taken the paint to its full potential.
Thinking perhaps a paint cleaner would help, I did the hood with DG 501 which is reported to be an outstanding cleaner. It didnt seem to have any visible effect - either in appearance of the paint or visible dirt on the pad.
My next step was going to be to step up to 105 with a cyan pad. However, I am now wondering if I might get some benefit from "feeding" the paint with M7? The paint is by no means in bad condition, but I wonder if it could benefit. Has anyone tried the process on newer SS paints or have a feeling as to whether or not there may be any benefit?
