Megs Body Solvent Safe for All Surfaces?

Sorry, but there are far better products out there than the Optimum offerings.

They do have a couple decent products, but its not the second coming.

I can only assume some good old fashioned shilling by some of the posts regarding Optimum I read on this board.

You just don't know when to stop do you? Have you even tried Optimum Power Clean? My guess is no because of your statement "I can only assume some good old fashioned shilling by some of the posts regarding Optimum I read on this board". Nobody said that every single Optimum product is hands down the best in the world. I made a simple statement regarding my experience with the product followed by photographic evidence of it's ability to work. I made a simple statement from a conversation between a Meguiar's representative about Meguiar's Body Solvent to provide relevant information to this thread. You constantly have no positive input regarding anything. You always talk down on products yet you provide no feedback on anything you use. How many cars have you actually detailed? How many products have you actually used?

Mike, I apologize for cluttering up your dedicated forum. And to the OP, I apologize for adding information from a conversation I had with a Meg's rep regarding the proper use of Meg's Body Solvent and for adding additonal information about another product.

Just wanted to throw this out there-I ordered some powerclean with my AG HT pads tonight. Looking forward to checking it out.

Grizzly, do you have something personal against Optimum? Thats not meant sarcastically or in any other way then a straight question. I read a lot of posts from you with something negative to say about their line, so I'm curious. I have no desire to argue about someones opinion. Just curious if it is more than that for you so I can put it into context. Any feedback is appreciated.

I dont think it's actually that bad guys. Having never used either of the products, I was on the fence about purchasing but was extremely interested in the two. I saw a discussion regarding one and started reading, when I saw the pics I was sold on the Powerclean. This is a discussion and these things are brought up. The two are relative to one another and when in the same post, offer comparative results in one place. If it were a wax it would be a completely different story.

However, what I can't stand in a post is repeating replies. When everyone is saying the same exact thing over and over most likely because they did not read the entire thread. That is what causes a post to become cluttered. But in the end, it is what it is and really isnt that big of a deal. We read through and learn.

Its free knowledge when you get down to it.

But, I would like to comment on the engine.....it looks great-good job and thanks for giving me the push.

Sooo.. I think I will just try the Body Solve and just be careful..

I've left body solvent on for a looonnnggg time and it doesn't seem to dry or damage paint, to me it seems like goo gone and IMO doesn't compete with other solvents I've used. But until you try it for yourself and do testing you'll never know :)
