Megs hi-tec tire coating

Aren't the sprays bad? Something about the solvent based application drying out tires, right?

I hope that boy wiped his rims off. I was twitching, watching him spray it on and get it all over them, then stand there and talk about it. My OCD makes me want to slam into a wall when I see that sort of thing...

His application didn't look right to me. Looks pretty good to me.

2 different products. Ultimate black and ultimate protectant are the same. The tire coating is completely different.

I find the Meguiar's Hyper Dressing to be a money saver, diluted or not.

If you are in the detailing business I agree. If you are just looking to try this on your personal car then I say go for it. I have it but I have not had a chance to use it.

Being a spray isn't the determining factor if the aerosol product in the can is water or solvent based; or, good/bad.

According to Michael Stoops, after his conversation with Meguiar's Chemists, this tire Coating...not a "Dressing"...is, FWIW, water-based with a 'pretty unique polymer load'.

Sometimes, in order to have a water/polymer emulsion, surfactants are in the mix. Can't confirm if this is the case when 'pretty unique polymers' are being used.

Not True...

Mike Stoops at Meguiar's explained to us this weekend that the product was originally developed in a gel format, but it didn't sell because consumers are so used to spraying ArmorAll.

They came out with the spray later to fit Consumer expectations.

Same formula, just in a spray form
