Megs MF System Test Spot and Questions

Sorry, temporary (I hope) mind loss. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax - liquid carnuba/sealant hybrid. A staple of many AGers. One of the most durable LSPs.

Don't you mean Collinite 845? DG has no 845...

I give it about an hour between those coats...

MaxWax isn't a sealant... I would say that a sealant is not a good choice but I have a buddy that did the MF system and topped with CQuartz and it looks amazing!

I'll bet he had to strip the wax from the 301 as well as any other polishing oils with APC, IPA, etc.

Nope... let it sit for about an hour wipe down the finish with a clean plush micro fiber then apply...

Well I am not expert Cquartz but
"For the best results, prep your vehicle properly before applying CQuartz Ceramic Quartz Paint Protection. Wash and clay the paint to remove all impurities. Polish if necessary to remove imperfections. CQuartz is only a protectant so you want to clean and polish before applying CQuartz."
It needs to bond to paint and wax is not going to help and will reduce durability.

I'm sure Avi could give a more informed answer.

thanks - I have tried a number of products over the years but never collinite, since it ,like 301, is a combination carnuaba/polymer is should be compatible:xyxthumbs:

Just spoke with him... He said he did an IPA before the CQ but he has spoken with some people about D301 and they have said that it can be topped with pretty much any sealant or wax w/o having to IPA it... (CQ not included) he has been detailing for about 25 years privately and keeps a few high end client's stables looking their best here in CO...
