Hey All!...

I have a new black Ram3500 to correct and seal up in a week or so when the weather clears up a bit. Question I have is with sealants. I am planning on Megs UW then followed by a coat of NXT Gen 2.0

I was thinking PowerLock, but have Megs on the shelf now....

thoughts?

NXT 2.0 is notoriously short lived although it looks wonderful initially. Were it my vehicle I would not use that product. I gave mine away to someone I don't like.

power lock is a great traditional sealant. It lasts a while and looks great. I recommend that.

Go with Meguiar’s M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with your recipe. In my experience, NXT has the more appealing look (at least to my tired old eyes), but Ultimate has the definite edge in longevity. Using a base of durability and a topper of good looks is just solid principle. Based on my experience with DD's over PA winters, when you run out of NXT, pick up some Collinite to top that UW and as the London Fog commercials used to say "let's you laugh at the weather".

Personally, I would just do two coats of UW. The durability is good (better than NXT) and IMO it looks great, especially on black! :)

This is exactly what I would do. One or the other. I've had decent luck with NXT, squeaking through a winter, but so far ULW is going really strong on my gf's truck. It was applied in July, and seems to be holding up just fine.

I would do this as well. Both products are synthetic so I don't see the benefit of using two similar products.

NXT and UW look identicle, however UW lasts way longer, so I would just stick with UW.

Power Lock looks better and last longer than both, but seeing as you have Megs already, UW on its own, 2nd coat 24hours after first and you sorted.
