Meg's Ultimate Wax...

I just got some Ultimate Wax, lol. This stuff smells like strawberry cream! I also noticed it's kind of runny... must be that Thin Film technology. I'm excited to use it. :)

Also, say if I wash my car with Dawn to strip the wax, then dry with D156 to avoid drying swirl marks, could I immediately apply the UW since it works together with D156? Would it possibly interfere with the application and curing of UW?

I would use a detail spray to help dry the car. Followed by ultimate wax. Then D156 in between washes to boost the wax.

You will like it. I just helped my brother clean up his car that I detailed 4 months ago and I used ultimate wax. It was still beading pretty good. I ended up using another coat on it as I was out of spray wax.

I've got nearly two full bottles of it, lol.

The first sealant I ever tried was 3M, loved it, but wanted to change things up and that's when I tired MPL. MPL worked extremely well for me, easy to apply, easy to buff off, etc. But lately, MPL started to fail me. I'd apply two coats of it about 8 hours apart, and say 3 or 4 weeks later, the rain and hose water would just stick to the paint as if no wax or sealant was present. So I switched back to 3M, my paint has once layer of 3M and some D156, the paint is beading water really well, but I wanted to try the UW since it's available locally and it'll work together with D156 since it's the pro version of UQW.

I was hoping to seal the paint with UW today, but the skies are already looking dark and cloudy. I'm beginning to hate my home state of Florida, lol.

Also, thanks to everyone for their input and advice. It helped me buy the Ultimate Wax. :D
 
I always go back to UW because of ease of application despite having other waxes that are aesthetically better. Dont get me wrong cuz UW looks pretty good too.
 
Ultimate wax is awesome. Since it came out a few years back its all I have really used. The only time it was a little difficult to use was when it was about 90 degrees out and humid but other than that its exactly what so many have said on here fantastic wax for the price and availability.

But will Dawn actually strip your current "waxes"...that you said are:
3M Performance Finish"...of which you stated: "is holding up nicely and gets topped with Meg's D156"?

Yeah, I decided to go with the UW since it's locally available, literally a mile down the road from where I live, and it will undoubtedly work together with the D156.

And, yes, in my personal experience, Dawn or Palmolive is my go-to wax stripping solution. I also throw in an ounce or two of my regular car shampoo, CG Maxi Suds II, just for the extra lubricity. It always leaves the paint squeaky clean, literally. :laughing: And then I'll proceed with claying the paint, sometimes use some Iron X, and then seal the paint.

I'll use Dawn in my foam gun, as well, for the pre-soak. Then I follow up with the 2 bucket, 2 wash mitts method. I haven't had any negatives effects from using Dawn in the wash. I only do this when I'm trying new sealants, which is not much, lol. I started with 3M, used that for probably 5 or 6 years, then tried MPL, been using that maybe a year now, and now I'm on to the Ultimate Wax. That's my third sealant I've tried... ever. :laughing:

My point is, I don't use Dawn all the time.
