I used the UQW for the first time the other night and I have to say, I really like it for maintenance. It applies and removes seamlessly, can go anywhere, very slick and actually beads water.

I haven't used Aquawax yet but am really thinking about getting some to compare the two.

Which do you prefer, UQW or AqauWax?

Tough call. I have both and they work very well but I'll give the edge to Aquawax especially given the price per gallon. Meg's is at a disadvantage in only selling UKW in the 15 oz. size. Once I use up the Ultimate Kwik Wax I'll not replace it. If I run low on Aquawax I'll reorder immediately.

I love the DF AW. I have both, but think the AQ wins. Not knocking the Megs, but RTexasF makes a good point on the price point.

If I'm not mistaken Meg sells a gallon jug of the UQW but it has a different name (same formula).

I think Meg Quik Wax is a great product and I have seen some great results.

Here is a picture from this morning of a BMW I did just a wash and spray wax on a week and a half ago. Great beading.(we got a little rain this morning, taken from my phone)

Meguiars Synthetic X-press Spray Wax, X-press car wax, Meguiars X-press spray liquid wax, D156
128 oz. Duragloss Aquawax (AW) #952

I think that's the Detailer Line version of the UQW, it's actually a bit cheaper than the AW. PS Sheesh, AW has sure gone up, I remember when it became flavor of the month it was $24 or $25.

Dude, I think I know what you meant, but you got your acronyms totally messed up...

If that is correct then it is a better buy. I wish there was a way to confirm that......any folks from AG that can cast a light on this?

Megs. No questions, hands down out preforms Aqua Wax in every area. Only quick waxing product ill use. Easiest quick wax to wipe on and off, leaves no residue at all. Use it every time I dry my car. Very amazing beading, finish, feel, and durability.

If you look over on MOL in the 2011 new products forum you will see the discussion.

megs uqw darkens the paint, where as DG AW is more bright/shiny and is a little easier to use. personally i like DG AW better, but both work well...

Have you performed a side by side comparison?

Considering I haven't tried AW I can't compare the two, but I purchased a gallon of D156 which is Meguiars Synthetic Xpress Spray Wax and I love the stuff, I think it's the same thing as UQW. I really like giving the cars an ONR wash in the garage this winter and using D156 as a drying aid. Makes our black vehicles very slick, nice beading and the protection holds up pretty well. Sounds like you can't go wrong either way!

Yep, put the two bottles next to each other, Megs. looks cooler, side by side comparison.

Of course I did, and to me the best indicator is water beading, and for me megs. outlasted and had a better sheeting from free flowing to pressurized water, which would also attend to a slicker finish, as for looks, well I guess that up to the individual.

I wonder what the difference is between the X-Press Wax and UQW?

Could it be just the same but sold in bulk or are there added ingredients that make the Detailer line....say dry faster? Last longer? Not as long?

One of the things that amazed me with the QW was how slick the surface felt. I even applie it to my wides car that hasn't been clayed in a while and it still had a very smooth and slick feel to it.

Not that this matters really, more of an observation-it smells good too.

I couldnt agree with this part more. I was pretty impressed with the slickness it left behind. A good product indeed.

They are both great products and what fun would it be if we could all decide that one was actually better then the other.

I have both and I like both. I preferred the look of the AW over the UQW slightly.

I have switched to OCW as I prefer it to these two products.

These are all good products and it will come down to a matter of preference for you.

The only way you will know for sure is to try them for yourself.
