Megs Wheel Brightner... OMG!

Can it be diluted to not be that aggresive? Because for the price and the reviews you guys have, im going to add it to my cart as i type. But can i add more water to make it a little less aggressive? Or what wheel cleaning product would be goos that is NOT that aggresive?
Sonax and P21s Gel are great wheel cleaners and safe for all wheels.

Do you mind telling me what dilution ratio you used it at ?
It was sent to me on trade as a sample, but I'm pretty sure you use it straight. I don't recall reading on their site any directions to dilute it.

You're saying you've been using Meg's Wheel Brightener straight?

I can't even imagine doing that. I've rarely used it any stronger than 4:1.

what would be a another good wheel cleaner that is not that acidic?

Meguiar's Super Degreaser is great on wheels. A little stronger than APC but not as strong as Wheel Brightner. Super D is my go to product on the engine bay as well.

How would this product work for cleaning a badly oxidized
aluminum tool box?

Wheel Brightner will stain your aluminum tool box. Then you'll have one heck of a time polishing it back to a shine. I say, no.

I believe the strongest dilution recommended of WB is 4:1, just for future reference. :xyxthumbs:

"richy" was talking about another wheel cleaner called Flash Brown Royal.... I asked the dilution ratio because in some youtube videos it says it can be diluted but I wasn't sure..

Thanks for clarifying that for them. Nobody bothered to see the post I referenced, they just assumed I meant WB.

Don't insult people's intelligence, richy. At least speaking for myself, I did see the other post that was referenced, but it was talking about both WB AND the other product. The question you were asked was what dilution ratio you used "it" at -- and "it" in that case could have been either product.

There was ambiguity on your and evojoey's part just as much as others of us are at fault for having made an assumption based on your post and the fact that this thread was originally about the Meg's product. :xyxthumbs:

We could get into a very pedantic discussion here and I'm not going to bother as I could care less. People are too quick to criticize on here I find lately. As if I wouldn't know the ratio for WB for goodness sake!?!

Chalk this up to another bunch of people jumping the gun again before they spend the time to read and understand what questions were asked .

Now if we did all that then the world would be a better place .:dblthumb2:

People have moved away from work and into instant gratification. There's little hope of going back. There are a few of us that will still take the time to read and research. Im the MAN

I know it's unheard of, especially for people who are evidently perfect, but even the best of us overlook things or make mistakes from time to time. :surrender:

Of course, I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to admit to their own partial fault even when the cause of the mix-up is a shared responsibility. As we all know, double standards exist for a reason....:poke:

Now, let's get back to the discussion at hand here, shall we?

:nomore:

Most of my posts should be taken lightly, only to lighten the mood at times. Like Richy said, a lot of people are very jumpy here. I am guilty of that as well and have no shame in admitting when I am wrong. I do appreciate being put in my place from time to time, it helps to keep in reality and often times get a better understanding of the topic at hand.

Speaking of topic at hand, I have not tried Meg's Wheel Brightener and with this thread it has actually pushed me toward buying it. :)

Yes WB can hurt the wheels finished. Its not designed to be used all the time.

Not trying to question you but it this from experience or did you read it somewhere?

I have used it quite a bit with no issues. Could it be diluted further like 8:1 for regular use?
