Meguairs 105 drying up quickly while cutting

Wolfgang four are the four Wolfgang products made for pbmg. Uber compound, total swirl remover, finishing glaze, and deep gloss paint sealant.

Mike Phillips says these four products will take care of 99% of paint issues. After reading and talking to Paul and Nick at AGO, I believe they are much more user friendly. My big box from AG should be here today, and I will post my experience when I get time to try them out

Here's the link to my article on the Wolfgang Four

The Wolfgang Four

The thread is about 6 pages long, lots of good info in it.

I'm using a Flex with orange pad. I'm in a garage so not direct sunlight. I've used UC before with no issues on my first 4 cars,

UC is the consumer version of M105

Consumer products are a lot more bubba-proof than pro grade products. That's the simple answer, there's a longer version. :D

switched to 105 and chaos!lol.......I use about 5 quarter sized drops on the pad as well. I've heard that sometimes different cars have different surfaces and can soak up the 105 causing it to dry, true?

That sounds like a lot of product.

As for paint soaking up product? That's true for old single stage paints as they tend to be a lot more porous. It's not true for new/modern clearcoats as they are basically a type of plastic and are not porous.

How often are you cleaning your pad? Anytime you're abrading paint with anything or any tool it's important to clean your pad often.

See this article as it's very in-depth as to why and how to clean pads as you're buffing out a car.

Why it's important to clean your pads often...

Just to note... if you're not cleaning your pads often and using too much product this WILL lead to both dusting and gummy hard-to-remove product residue.

If you want to stick with Meguiar's for compounds next time get some M101. I find it to be a lot more enjoyable to work with for foam pads and DA polishers.

Also, welcome to AGO!

Here's a video we made here at Autogeek a few years ago where some of the guys from Meguiars and myself walk you through the differetnt Meguiar's compounds.

Five quarter sized drops will probably get me through the hood, and an entire side of a mid sized sedan. Sounds like a ton of product. After the pad is primed with m34, I start with 4 pea sized drops of M105, and clean with a pad conditioning brush after each section that I buff.

As with most products, and especially M105 less is usually more.
